Moishe the Beadle is a character in Elie Wiesel's autobiographical novel "Night." Moishe is a poor Jewish man who worked in the synagogue and was known for his devotion to his faith. He becomes a mentor and teacher to the young Elie, teaching him about the Kabbalah and inspiring him to deepen his own faith. Moishe's life is ultimately marked by tragedy, as he is deported to a concentration camp and manages to escape, only to return to his hometown and warn the Jews of the impending danger. However, his warnings go unheeded, and Moishe is eventually killed by the Nazis.
