Who Is Juliek In The Book Night?

Juliek is a fellow prisoner in Elie Wiesel's autobiographical novel "Night." He is a young Polish musician who plays the violin in the concentration camp where Eliezer is imprisoned. Juliek's music serves as a symbol of hope and humanity amidst the dehumanizing and brutal conditions of the camp. He plays a haunting melody on his violin on the night before he and Eliezer are scheduled to be sent to the gas chambers.
