Victor Frankenstein's strongest motivation in Mary Shelley's novel Frankenstein was his desire to conquer death and overcome the limitations of mortality. After the death of his mother, Victor became obsessed with the idea of creating life from nonliving matter, driven by a combination of scientific curiosity, ambition, and grief. He believed that through his experiments, he could unlock the secrets of the universe and transcend the limitations of human existence.
