The Children's Crusade is a historical event that occurred in 1212 CE in which a group of thousands of children, primarily from France and Germany, embarked on a pilgrimage to Jerusalem with the goal of peacefully converting Muslims to Christianity and reclaiming the Holy Land. This event has been written about extensively in both historical and literary works, and has been the subject of numerous interpretations and debates among scholars. One of the most well-known literary works on the Children's Crusade is the 1855 poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, titled "The Children's Crusade."
