What Is Harry Potter About?

Harry Potter is a series of seven books written by British author J.K. Rowling. The first book in the series, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (published as Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in America), was released in 1997 and has since become one of the most successful book series ever published.

The books focus on a young wizard named Harry Potter who attends Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, where he learns how to work magic and defeat dark forces threatening his world.

In addition to the novels, there are also several spin-off movies based on the characters from Harry Potter.
