How Did Achilles Die?

Category: Literature
Explanation:

Achilles died in the Greek epic poem The Illiad. It is believed that he was killed by an arrow from Paris, who was the son of King Priam and Queen Hecuba.

Achilles was the son of Peleus and Thetis. His mother was a sea nymph and his father was a mortal man. At birth, Achilles' mother dipped him into a river to make him immortal, but she held him by his heel for just long enough to make sure that one part of his body would remain human and vulnerable (his heel).
