My Second Home Essay
My Second Home
Past nine o’clock in the morning, as I walked through a crowded and hot burning side of the road, I found myself heading into a particular place I have never been yet in my entire life. I am about to enter into the vicinity of one of the most known and prestigious university of the north – and that is no other than Mariano Marcos State University. Holding its green and gold pride up high, I was convinced to stay and be a proud Marianite. Its foot is set on a calm and peaceful town of Batac making it an excellent venue for learning.
It is also known for being one of the leading universities and for being capable of producing well-trained and experienced graduates. To educate myself at the Mariano Marcos State University within a short period of time was a momentous experience. Going back in the past, as I get closer and closer to the school for registration, I can hear my heart beating like a drum and my feet trembles with fear. I am mumbling. I wish I have somebody with me, at least someone I can talk to and who could drive this cowardice away in me. I tried to kill my anxiety.
I stopped underneath a big and old pine tree just across the campus source of life. Due to my curiosity, I am staring intently at the Administration building. I wondered how they could build something so perfect. It is articulately placed in a very huge circle at the very heart of the MMSU. The agricultural fields and various kinds of trees that surround the majestic Administration building only adds to its beauty and color. The breeze of the cool fresh air that lingers unto my skin makes me forget all my worries during the day.
As I let my eyes to explore more, I began to develop strong admiration toward the school. I was definitely enticed by her magnetic charm. I was drawn by its physical attractiveness so much that I almost forgot my intention to register. As I looked up again, I saw a throng of students noisily forming their line at the administration office and so I hurriedly moved my ass and stand quietly at the end of the line while smiling at my own self. Since that day, my journey in MMSU has begun. Special memories remain in the heart forever.
During my stay in MMSU, I have met the naughtiest and craziest people that I never expected would be the greatest I would ever know. I have found my true loving friends inside the campus. I have many classmates but Lorelai and Rose are the two I love the best of all. Lorelai with her curly long hair and fair complexion catches the attention of many while Rose on the other hand is of good height, snob in appearance but jolly in nature. These two people created a wide space in my heart.
I remember the very first day of classes when the room was filled with noise due to the giggles, murmurs and shouts of my classmates. Those loud non-ending laughter in the four-cornered room still resonates at the back of my head. I love the day when I get to know all the names and attitudes of my classmates and being able to get along with all of them is such an achievement. The campus bathroom is the most favorite place to go right after our class. Ninety percent of the ladies population would be found inside the bathroom.
We often see ourselves standing in front of the wide and clear rectangular mirror trying to fix our wrinkled and crooked cream –colored business uniform, putting face powders, applying perfumes and lip shimmering lipsticks and doing such lady-like things. We believe that being presentable means having the confidence to attend each class. In my school, no one is an island. No student walking alone by themselves in the hall ways. Each student has its own group. When we walk through the corridors of the College of Business Economics and Accountancy, we often see multiple groups of students and professors.
The large number of students sitting on the benches, eating in the cafeteria, reviewing notes out loud, talking stories and doing such dramas under the trees only portrays that the school is functional. I proudly say, Mariano Marcos State University has a wonderful view of happy and alive faces. One of my friends once told me that there is no cure for seriousness thus, we should be happy and enjoy life as it is. When the school day is over, my close friends and I always spend time in my dormitory, the Co-educational dorm which is next to the campus library.
In there, we help each other to understand our lessons. We often do teamwork to solve every problem especially in our math subject. Professors are also unforgettable. They exert so much effort in developing the potentials of their students. Though some of the teachers have big voices and seem to look very strict, I still considered them as one of the gold of the Mariano Marcos State University. These are few reasons why it is so hard to forget my former school. Without it, I shouldn’t have been as happy and optimistic as I am right now.
In the nurturing process of man, education plays an important part. Hence, In order to reach an individual goal, schools were established to serve as an instrument in shaping one’s ability and to use as a ladder in climbing the summit for success. There may be tough rocks along the way; darkness may cover the light but with the help of a kind guiding hand, everything will turn out right. Mariano Marcos State University is a home-like place to be where professors take care of their students as their own kid and fellow schoolmates treat one another as their siblings. It is my second home.
