Culture is described as that which forms us, our individuality and impacts our behaviour. It is our way of existence, more specifically, it refers to the shared language, beliefs, values, norms, behaviours and material objects that are passed from one generation to the next. Each race encompasses a multitude of different ethnics groups (people who are closely related to each other by characteristics like culture, language and religion. Cultural Diversity is Multiculturalism which is a system of beliefs and behaviours which recognizes and respects the presence of all diverse groups in an organization or society and acknowledges and values their sociocultural differences, also encourages and enables their continued contribution within an inclusive cultural context which empowers all within the organisation and society.

Different Concept that Describes or Define Multiculturalism

Recognition of the plentiful diversity of cultures. Respect for the alterations. Accepting the validity of diverse cultures. Respect for the differences. Recognizing the validity of diverse cultural expressions and influences. Respecting what the other cultures offer.

People naturally use their own culture as the standard to critic other cultures, though, passing conclusion could reach a level where people start to separate against other whose ways of being are diverse than their own essentially, we tend to fear that which we do not understand cultural diversity is important because our country, workplaces, and schools increasingly consist of many cultural, racial and ethnic group. We can learn from one another, but first we must have level of understanding about each other in order to facilitate teamwork. Knowledge of other cultures enables us to know different viewpoints in the world in we live, and helps dismiss negative stereotypes and personal biases abut different groups. In addition, cultural diversity helps us know and respect that are not necessarily our own, so that as we relate with others we can form bridges to trust, respect, and understanding across cultures. Also, this diversity makes our country a more motivating place to live, as people from diverse cultures contribute language skills, new ways of thinking, new knowledge, and different experiences.

The Challenges that could come with Encouraging cultural diversity!

Prejudice which is a biased and perverse opinion of feeling, especially when molded without sufficient thought or knowledge, an unfair negative attitude toward a person based on his or her membership in particular group.

Ethnocentrism which is a tendency to regard one’s own group, culture or nation as greater to others
Stereotypes which is a stable idea about what a certain type of person is like, especially an impression that is wrong, a set of beliefs about a group that is useful universally to all members of that group.

Blaming the victim by creating improper casual attributions involving aggressions with perceived features of groups.

Discrimination which is excluding an individual from membership in an organisation or from a job because of his or her membership of a specific group.

Harassment which is deliberately isolating vocally or bodily ill-treating and separate because of membership in a particular group.
Backlash which is the bad reaction to members of previously underrepresented groups gaining power and influence. ( Apex people.)
