Pakistan is a country prone to natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods, droughts, landslides, and cyclones. In 2005, the country was hit by a devastating 7.6 magnitude earthquake, which killed over 75,000 people and left millions homeless. In 2010, Pakistan experienced the worst floods in its history, affecting almost one-fifth of the country and leaving over 20 million people affected. Droughts and heatwaves are also common in Pakistan, with temperatures reaching over 50°C in some areas. The country’s mountainous terrain also makes it vulnerable to landslides and avalanches, which can cause significant damage to infrastructure and homes.
