The Basis of The Reconstruction of The South

Due to heavy fighting occurring in the Southern territories during the war, there was a lot of damage to properties, railroads, and also agricultural disasters these were just a few of the challenges the Federal Government had to face after the civil war was won. The Federal Government had sent in Northern troops to appease order and to help support these issues the Southern areas were now facing. Politically the big question to handle this situation was how to bring Confederate states back into the Union and how to develop these newly freed slaves into the work field, this was the main challenge the Government had to face overall as a change this big would of course not happen instantaneously and hand to be handled in just the right manner as it was the foundation of the reconstruction of the south.

This reconstruction period would last over the next ten years.

After the Civil War ended three key Amendments were passed the 13th amendment abolished Slavery, then the 14th amendment granted birthright citizenship and final the 15th amendment Granted all newly freed slaves the right to vote.

Although these amendments were passed there was still some hesitation in the south to abide by them and some “grab baggers” from the north coming down south to try and take advantage to the situation it was in after the War. The issue of the South Not listening to the new laws enforced and the grab baggers from the north, The North had decided to take stronger action and use force to bring order in the South.

The North was personally placing Northern troops in each of the Southern territories to make sure all was in accordance. Finally when the South was ware it needed to be the last Northern Solider was removed from there in 1877 truly marking an end to the reconstruction era.

The Overall Demeanor for Whites in the South towards reconstruction was resentment as they did not want any help with reconstructing their land/s because in their mind there was no problems the way that things were and also most of the Southerners did not even believe that the war was over. The Black Community on the other hand had gladly embraced the fact of change even going as far as electing black political officials instantly after the war was over, but the consensus remained skeptical they did not believe in their status of now being free from slavery, the black community was hesitant in believing this new found freedom and was not accustomed on what to do with it and how to manage as a free member of society, this was actually one of the many of tough challenges that the Federal Government had to face during the reconstruction period.

Slavery is a very sensitive subject, it is one of those topic discussions that allot of people consider taboo because it is difficult to talk about… at least that is my opinion. In my personal knowledge of the subject slavery still very well exist, I do not think it exist in the form it is remembered but it is still exist in many other ways. The thirtieth amendment was very significant for civilization and had a huge impact on people especially in the unit states, but further investigating from what I learned over my years of living through social media and media in general (movies and literature) forms of slavery exist all over the world and from further investigating there are many types of illegally forms of slavery and still forms of legal slavery going on to this day.

There is children trafficking for servitude albeit workshops or military, there is human sex trafficking both male and female, forced marriages, and forced labored, debited servitude and finally ancestral slavery. In Africa there is actually still forms of legal slavery and in the United States believe it or not there is a form of legal slaver, it is just not noticed as it is towards criminals in criminal facilities. Overall the numbers that I saw during this research is astronomically large and I myself for one am against all of it… well maybe not the criminal justice slavery convicts endure, but that is for punishment and deservingly so, but the other injustices from child labor and human trafficking and forced marriages should never be tolerated. I know I myself cannot do much but personally I feel strongly about these forms of slavery and would stand up against it if ever presented to me in a personal level.
