How To Improve The Army Sharp Program

Categories: Army Sharp

As a former soldier in the United States Army, I know the importance of being prepared. But the army has been failing its soldiers when it comes to sexual assault, and that's got to change. The military needs to train its soldiers better and be more prepared when it comes to handling sexual assault situations. Sexual assault is a serious crime—one that's unfortunately prevalent in all branches of our armed forces. That's why we need better education about how this issue affects both victims and perpetrators alike: not just in terms of prevention but also when it comes time for reporting incidents and prosecuting perpetrators.

It’s important to learn more about the sharp program if you want to become a part of it. The Sharp Program is an initiative created by the Army and Marines to help soldiers find jobs after they’ve served their country.

The goal of this program is simple: get veterans into high-paying careers that use their military experience and skills.

To do so, they provide training programs and mentorship opportunities for veterans who have already been in the military for less than 10 years—so that they can be eligible for positions such as IT specialists, engineering managers or sales representatives at major corporations like Microsoft or Intel.

Learn how to treat victims of sexual assault.

  • Listen to the victim.
  • Do not blame the victim.
  • Do not tell them what they should do next.
  • Do not tell them what they should have done differently.
  • Do not tell them they were asking for it.

And above all, never say anything that could be construed as victim-blaming or telling women how to avoid being sexually assaulted in the future (e.g., "Don't drink too much.") This is a common response from people who don't understand sexual assault and its effects on survivors, but it only makes things worse because it places responsibility on survivors instead of recognizing that rape is a crime committed by perpetrators against their victims, regardless of whether they had been drinking alcohol beforehand or wearing certain clothes at the time it happened—and everyone has a right to feel safe no matter how they look!

Be open to views and opinions different from your own. In order to improve the Army Sharp program, you must be open to views and opinions different from your own. For example, if you think that the Army could benefit from a new system of rank insignia, don't get discouraged when someone else disagrees with you. Instead of arguing over what is right or wrong or whose idea is better, ask questions about why they feel that way so that together the two parties can come up with an answer everyone is happy with.

If someone says something that contradicts what you believe in—and especially if they are wrong—do not be afraid of admitting it! Being willing to admit when someone else has made a good point makes them more likely to listen when it's your turn again.

Be an active bystander. Don’t just stand by if you see someone in a dangerous situation. Whether you're a bystander or directly involved in the situation, you can help.

  • Don't wait for someone else to step in. If you see something that doesn't seem right, speak up!
  • Don't be afraid to get involved. You don't have to jump into the fray or take on an entire army of soldiers if you don't want to—but if there's an opportunity for you to intervene and help someone who needs it, go ahead and do it! It may not seem like much but sometimes all a person needs is one person's support and kindness in order for them to start becoming more confident and self-assured again (or even just realize that their experience isn't unique).
  • Don't be afraid of making mistakes—you won't always get everything right the first time around (and some things may not necessarily ever fully improve), but that doesn't mean progress hasn’t been made along the way either…and every time we try our best despite fear or uncertainty shows strength rather than weakness because life doesn’t come with easy solutions; what matters most isn’t perfection but *doing our best.*

Make sure you’re knowledgeable about safe sex and sexually transmitted diseases. The best way to protect yourself is to know how. This includes knowing how to protect yourself if you are sexually active, if you are not sexually active, and if you are a victim of sexual assault.

If you are sexually active:

  • Use a condom every time you have sex or masturbate.
  • Use condoms correctly—put it on before any genital contact (like oral sex), and take it off right away after ejaculation or penetration.
  • If you're not sexually active:
  • Use condoms when having sex with someone else's partner who may be infected with an STD such as chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis or HIV/AIDS (if they don't know their status).

The army needs to be more prepared for sexual assault situations, and it needs to train its soldiers to be more educated and prepared too.

A major contributor to the problem is that the army is underprepared for sexual assault situations. It needs to train its soldiers on how to be more educated and prepared too. The army should educate soldiers on how to treat victims of sexual assault (i.e., with compassion), and it should also educate soldiers on how they can be active bystanders in their community.

The only way we will see progress in this area is if both men and women work together towards a solution, which means educating the people who are most impacted by sexual violence: women and men who have experienced it first-hand or those who are close friends/family members of someone who has experienced it first-hand.

Sexual assault is a very serious problem, and it's not something that can be solved overnight. However, if we all take a step back from the details and look at the big picture, we can see that there are some things that need to change in order for us to move forward as a society. For example, more education about safe sex would help reduce STDs as well as unwanted pregnancies which often result from sexual assault situations. Also important would be teaching people how to be active bystanders instead of just standing by while others suffer or get hurt. Finally, making sure all soldiers know what they're getting into when joining the military will help make them better prepared for life after serving their country.
