Why People Believe in Fate?

When it comes to fate there are two types of people, those who believe in it and those who don't. The people who don't believe in it often don't because they don't like to think that they don't have control over their life when in reality they do. Fate is defined as forces outside of your control that make things happen. You may not be able to change your fate but sometimes you can alter your fate or postpone it. Even if you have your head down for a long time your fate will keep showing itself until you're prepared to reach up and acknowledge it.

An example of fate is when you miss your bus and meet the person who will turn out to be your spouse while you are standing on the platform waiting on the next bus. To help you understand the fate and your fate I'm going to be talking about different types or fate, how to know your fate and the history of fate.

“Fate is so powerful that people are warned not to tempt fate” (Matteo 1). Tempting fate is when someone does something that is very risky or dangerous and tempts their fate. An example of tempting fate is, race car drivers, they tempt their fate every time they get in the car. There’s also a twist of fate, which happens by chance, and it is strange, interesting, or unfortunate in some way. It can be a bad or good thing. “When we say something is a twist of fate, we mean something strange or unexpected has happened” (Matteo 1).

“Palmistry is an ancient practice dating back thousands of years. Based on the premise that the hands possess clues about one’s character and future, palmistry has roots in ancient China, Tibet, India, Greece, and elsewhere” (Morrison 1). Palm reading is a type of palmistry. When reading someone’s palm you use their dominant hand whichever one it is. “The dominant hand will tell you about the person’s life right now, while the other is rooted in the past” (Morrison 1). There are seven lines, the first three are the most famous. The lifeline, the headline, and the heart line. Lifeline shows the quality of a person’s life. The headline demonstrates a subject’s mental cosmetics, mental advancement, and natural abilities. Then the heart line gives an understanding of a subject’s emotions. The rest are minor or secondary lines, not everyone has them. There's the girdle of venus, The apollo line, or sun line, The mercury line, or health line, and the Fate line.

“The fates were personified as three very old women who spin the threads of human destiny” (Britannica 1). Their names were Clotho, Lachesis, and Atropos. “Clotho spun the “thread” of human fate, Lachesis dispensed it, and Atropos cut the thread (thus determining the individual’s moment of death)” (Britannica 1).

With all the theories on believing in fate, by reading palms and mythical stories and how different fate’s portray people’s emotions. Some people will still have their doubts.
