What’s Going on With America’s White People? Essay

The wealthy run the United States of America and I’m against this group being in charge because it means that one day the average American will become a slave. The wealthy have a big influence on the government to benefit themselves. They do not pay their fair share of taxes; they pay less than the average person. The pharmaceutical companies have an impact on the health of the American people. A lot of people in this country think they are enslaved by the wealthy, and think the wealth should be better distributed.
The wealthy have a big influence on the decisions government make as they usually have their own people in Congress or they pay lots of money to Congressmen to favor certain laws that benefit them.
This is wrong, as the government should not be influenced in passing certain laws that only benefit a small percentage of people. Instead, they should think of what’s best for the people in the country. One example of this is the fossil fuel companies which pay congressmen money to not pass laws that are good for the environment. They do this to not lose profit, even though they know their companies are bad for the environment. Another example of how the wealthy run America can be seen through the politicians themselves and other members of different departments in the government.
Most were already wealthy when they entered the world of politics and often got their positions through the help of a wealthy or powerful influence. This is wrong as one should earn a job through hard work and study and not through the help of a friend or powerful influence. This makes it unfair as a person who is more fit and educated might find it hard to get a job in his area while a wealthy person will easily get it. The wealthy pays a lot less money in taxes compared to the average person. They do not pay their fair share of taxes and this is a big problem. This is a problem because every year there is less money for programs like Medicaid and Welfare which help people in need. As a result to this more programs are getting cut. If the wealthy paid their fair share of taxes, we wouldn’t have this problem because there would be more money to expand these programs. Pharmaceutical companies are very wealthy and have an impact in the health of people. They keep increasing the price of drugs every year in order to make more profit.
The cost to visit a doctor and get drugs is very high today, especially if you don’t have insurance. This is really bad because not a lot of people can afford to get insurance. This means that many people who are sick and can’t afford to visit a doctor can get worse or even die. Many people think they are being enslaved by the wealthy. They think that because they have a daily work routine that makes them feel they don’t earn enough money to live a happy or satisfactory life as they deserved. They think the wealth should be better distributed to benefit more people, not just the ten percent. They feel they deserve to be able to have a family, buy a car, buy a house, and live a good life. This today is very difficult to do as someone who works and earns an average salary cannot afford to live that life. We should ask ourselves, do we want the wealthy to keep controlling the country? Do we want to keep living a life where we are treated as slaves? What can we do to change this? We, as hard working the middle and lower class Americans, should hear the wakeup call of how our country has been wrongfully and unfairly run and make a stand. To accomplish this, we must come forward and carefully elect candidates in the government that will work for the benefits of the average American and not for personal gain.
