Addiction means spoiled or dark future

RESPONSE #1

I think addiction means spoiled or dark future. It can be seen that in day to day busy life everyone is worried and living in a stressed environment so to remove stress mostly people use a variety of drugs which is not good for their health and future. I considered addiction as spoiled or dark future because drugs make our body parts weak and less energetic and if we have not good health then definitely our future will be dark as it is already taught by our ancestors that 'health is wealth'.

According to my research, harm reduction is a method or program that objective is to overcome the negative and dangerous effect of the use of drugs. According to Drug Policy Alliances, it is found that the use of drugs will never be removed from the earth. Harm Reduction International (HRI) said that it is crucial to provide doctoring to all the drug users for their health, although some people do not need a cure.

Harm reduction works in many countries and has various principles.

Yes, I believe that harm reduction is an important strategy for Windsor's /Ontario/ Canada's drug problem. According to a recent survey, it is found that every fifth person in Canada is taking various drugs. So harm reduction is a great initiative to aware drug users about negative results of drugs and the impact of drugs on their health. The main target of this program is a positive change.

The author talks about the misuse of a drug named Opioid. Also, he describes OxyContin which is a painkiller. I believe that excess use of any drug or painkiller is always harmful to the body.

  • Why they did not aware people about negative impacts of painkillers and drugs?
  • Why the government did not ban dangerous painkillers in the province?
  • How students got drugs illegally?
  • Why they did not stop the marketing of those drugs?

This all questions addressed to the government, health care department and pharmacies.

I do not have much knowledge about painkillers and drugs. But now after reading this article I got enough knowledge for various drugs and painkillers and conclude that excess use of any drug is harmful to health and may cause death. This article is totally new for me. I got information about Chatham-Kent and their medical stores. Also, collect information about harmful drugs and painkillers (Opioids and Oxycontin)

This article is very helpful for me and I think it is crucial for all read this article as I got information about various dangerous drugs and read real-life stories of many people. Now I am able to aware myself, individual and society about excess use of various painkillers and advice them to take proper medical counseling from professional doctors. ( last three points covered in this)

Text-to-Self

I am an international student in Canada. I am from India. India is a developing country and yes, it is true that in developing countries like India and Arab countries, women's roles are primarily within the home as wives and mother and men typically control the finances. Here I am going to share the story of my childhood friend. Her name was Saima. She was a very talented and motivated girl. She was fond of acting and dancing. But her father was very strict and always wanted to see her daughter as a doctor because she was a girl.

Her father always allowed her brother to do anything and gave him full permission to choose any profession for his career. Saima did not like to do a study and had no interest in science. She participated in different competitions and also won many trophies and cash awards. However, Saima completed her schooling in science and after completion of her study, she left her house without telling her parents and went to Mumbai for her career in Acting.

Then she was selected in various television shows and got little fame but Saima's father did not like that and he forced her to come back. After a lot of warnings, she finally came from Mumbai and her father did not allow her to continue her study and asked her to stay at home. Then Saima started taking drugs (alcohol). Her father and brother started beating her and forced her for marriage. Then one day she took a high amount of alcohol and did suicide. That is how she ended her life. Then Saima's family also felt bad and was arrested by police. In the end, just because of gender difference that incident happened. And many lives destroyed.

I think that family and career are more responsible for alcoholism.

Family-> Family plays an important role in children life as it can be seen that parents who drink alcohol and take a high dosage of drugs daily are more responsible because they do not give much attention to their kids and always use abusive words in house and every day create an issue in a family for a fight. After seeing this type of family crisis kids also started drinking alcohol and taking drugs.

Career -> In this competitive world every student want a good job and a better future and they did a high level of studies from a reputed college and spent a high amount of money on their studies. Just because of the high population and competition they do not get the desired job and good salary then they start to worry. They take a high amount of alcohol and drugs to remove stress.

RESPONSE #6

Addiction is a worldwide problem and almost every third person in the world is suffering from a drug problem. According to some reports, it's hard to make the world free of alcohol and drugs. I think it's important for governments to do a meeting on an international level and discuss this issue. They must take some initiatives and make organizations who will aware the people, society and community about the consequences of this problem on their health. The Government must do a survey in their country after every five years to know the reasons for this problem then they discuss those reasons globally and try to find solutions. Moreover, they must make some laws and proper punishment will be given to those who take an excessive amount of drugs and alcohol.
