Violent crimes

If you commit a violent crime, should your age matter when you are sentenced? A better question is are you willing to become a victim to a violent minor after he gets released early because his age. I am certain I would not want this to happen to me. People that commit one violent crime are more likely to commit another one. We do not need these people free to go wherever they want. Instead of setting these people free or putting them in a low security juvenile prison, we should put them where the belong, in a

high security prison with others, regardless of their age, that commit the same type of crime. Juveniles that commit violent crimes are able to make their own decisions. Young criminals know that they can get by with their crimes. Until they are 18, they know that the government claims that they are not responsible for their own actions. By law, if you are 10 years old or younger, you are pardoned from all charges. Any minor from 10 to 14 years can

only get 6 months of imprisonment. If you are 14 to 16 years old, you can only get up to half the sentence that a convicted adult could get from committing the same crime. Any child may also not be handcuffed or put with adult criminals. These facts prove that it is absurd that these violent juveniles are not getting the punishment that they deserve. In conclusion, if you do not want to

be a violent young criminal’s next target, you will agree that putting these dangerous people in a jail is the best decision for our country to make.
