Starting a new school – This could make the child or young person feel nervous because they have to make new friends and could make the child feel anxious because they don’t know what will happen. This could also make the child become shy or dismissive or even anxious.

The child or young person may be waiting for his/her birthday and they find it hard to settle in anticipation of it. – the hard to settle is the transitional party and possibly based on positive feelings looking forward to have it.

The child or young person may visit a relative as part of a regular occurrence – visiting may be the other occasions/time and is the only time that they see one another they may either find it hard to settle because of the excitement of seeing other people that they haven’t seen in a while or they may seem very relaxed because they know the surroundings.
