The Relationship Between People and Government

States or governments are the ones with power because they are on a higher level than people and people can be like a low level or a middle level depends on the situation. With this people can feel aggrieved because the people might feel that the government or states are doing the opposites than the other states or government; therefore people will not find that fair or equal to others. The relationship of states to the individuals is that states have more power than individuals.

The states or like government have more power than people because they can almost do anything to people to where the states can manipulate the people and fall under their tricks. People don’t have power because they are basically under the states or government controls. If people had power then everything would of been going crazy; therefore there can be like a war between each other if one does not agree with the other one.

Even if there was war if people had power there would also be war between people and the government or states. There is a difference between a government or state that can obtain things and when a government or states can not obtain things.

According to Thoreau, “government is best expedient...but mostly are inexpedient” (Thoreau 1). With this government can either be inexpedient or expedient which means governments are able to achieve things or not. Governments or states think the opposite of humility because they know that they are better than the people; on the other hand, people would probably think the opposite because they might think that they are better than what the government or states are doing, but sometimes some people are timid to tell the government or states what they are doing wrong.

So with the government or state that can obtain things are probably doing the right thing for people; on the other hand, the government or state that can not obtain things are probably doing a thing for people. The relationship with the states or government with people are different because they both tend to not agree with the same thing; therefore there is usually a war between states or government with people. Men mostly working in the military for the goods only which made them brainwashed by the government, but the other men who did not serve the military are the ones who did not get brainwashed by the government half-witted. According to Thoreau, “severing the devil, without intending it, as God” (Thoreau 2).

Men are basically brainwashed by the government or states by them telling men if they work for the military they will receive goods, but the ones who did not serve the military would not receive goods. So half of the men that serve the military was basically brainwashed or like under the government or states control while the other men that did not serve the military for the government or states were not brainwashed or under their control; therefore men who did not serve the military believed what they believe was the best for them. Men who choose to serve the military made the wrong decision. According to Thoreau, “against their wills, against their common sense and consciences” (Thoreau 2). In this situation, men had the power to choose if they should serve the military for the government or not just for goods the government was going to give to the men if they serve the military. The government had power too because the government manipulates the men into their tricks which lead the men to do their dirty work and got half of the men to serve the military so there is a power difference between the men and the government. Overall, men working for the military think they are going to receive goods while the men who did not serve the military will not receive goods. Men who serve the military are just not only brainwashed, but they are being used as machines when they are supposed to be their self and no one controlling them.

According to Thoreau, “not as men mainly, but as machines, with their bodies” (Thoreau 2). Men don’t have the power to control themselves since they are under the states or government control. With this the government has been using the men acting like the men are toys to them and using them to do their dirty work. That is why for the men they don’t have the power to get out of the government’s manipulation; therefore the men are just being used as the government toys. According to Thoreau, “wise men… will not submit to be clay”(Thoreau 2). Interpreting this, if a man was not brainwashed then the men would not be under the states or government control because he does what he believes instead of falling under the government or states skin. If a men fell under the states or government skin then that means they are under the government or state control. Since some men already fell under the government skin the men would be submitted to be clay in which the men are brainwashed and are being used as toys.

Therefore, the men being submitted to clay are worthless because they believe what the government had to say about receiving goods after serving the military. Overall, men that served the military were brainwashed and being used toys since they were controlled. Therefore, there is a power difference between people (mostly men) and states or governments. The relation with the states or government and people are different because the government or states have more power than people to do almost anything they want to do while people barely have the power to do anything. But the thing is if people had power than it is a huge problem because it may cause a war between disagreements between people. Even though if people had power like the government or state it might cause a war between states or government and people still so there is not a difference between them both having powers.
