You just found out you are pregnant and you are not sure if you should keep the baby. Part of you is not sure if you are mature enough to handle a baby, and the other part of you wants the baby. Everyday people have to face this hard decision. But more and more people are choosing the practice of abortion and it is becoming more common in our society. In fact, many are more accepting of abortions because it happens more often today.
Because of the murder of the unborn, we should have stricter laws in place on abortion. Putting laws in place against the murder of babies would reduce the abortions performed each year. Every year, people continue to get an abortion for various reasons. There are different activist groups that are extremely outspoken about the issue. However, abortions still take place and it needs to be addressed and perhaps if there was a law in place the number would reduce drastically.
Abortion is wrong because the mother is making the choice for the child while the child has no choice.
Abortion needs to be addressed in the United States.
Babies every day all across America are killed due to this. For instance, a report that came out in 2015 showed that “638,169 abortions were reported to the CDC (CNN).” This is a problem because even one baby being killed could have potentially been the next successful Einstein.
Other countries such as Ireland, El Salvador and Nicaragua that have strict laws on abortions have seen a lower rate that occur compared to the United States. The solution to the problem of the murder of babies would be to have stricter laws in place on abortion and women who end the life of a baby should face consequences for their actions. “El Salvador’s laws are perhaps the most draconian … Women who have an abortion or even experience a miscarriage can face up to 30 years in prison; more than 100 women have been charged under these regulations (Erickson).” This means that other countries have found that making laws on abortion have had a decreased amount. Other countries have already put into action laws that are strictly against ending the life of a baby and women that break this law face major consequences. According to the article, the World Economic Forum, “The Irish referendum vote reflected a generational divide, with younger voters opting to change the law while a majority of those over the age of 65 wanted to keep the eighth amendment, which protects the right of the unborn child (Charlotte Beale).” Again, this shows that other countries have laws in place to protect the right of the unborn and that the number has reduced drastically.
America will be better when there are laws put in place stopping this action. After all, every life matters. By having laws on killing fetus’, people are more likely to obey the law. This is a step to taking our country back to a place that it hasn’t been in decades. Stated in American History USA, “Roe v. Wade is a landmark decision by the United States Supreme Court on the issue of abortion. Decided simultaneously with a companion case, Doe v. Bolton, the Court ruled 7–2 that a right to privacy under the due process clause of the 14th Amendment extended to a woman’s decision to have an abortion (Bryan).” We need to overturn the ruling on the act of allowing abortions to occur that were created years ago.
Citizens all across the United States are protesting on the murder of babies that happen every year. But time and time again, the government does not seem to take action but rather continue letting the amount climb. By writing to your congressmen you could state how you feel and perhaps state your opinion on the issue. Some say that it is their choice to have an abortion because it’s their body but this is misunderstood. If you decide to have sex, you should have to face the consequences that may come with it. Continuing to let people get by with aborting their baby is not the answer. However, stricter laws is the answer. How many more people have to step in to make this change? How many more babies are we going to kill before we see it as a problem? The laws need to change and no matter who you are, you should definitely find alternatives and not kill your baby.
