The Fun and Exciting Journey of Returning to School

I always planned on going to college but I never thought that I would be 28 years old before I actually went back to school. It has been quite an experience returning to school and being an adult going back to school has had its challenges. There are several reasons I could say are owning my own business and having a better life, my own personal need and making myself proud, and lastly Making my son and my family proud of me and giving my son a positive role model to look up to.

Earning a bachelor’s degree in Business Information Systems is a big step toward my future goal of owning my own business and having a better life and more money. My personal need to have a degree and being proud of myself is important to me. Not only do I want to make myself proud I want to make my son and my family proud of me. My main reason for returning to school is my son.

Returning to school has been a fun and exciting journey. I have met a lot of interesting people along the way. I actually can not wait until I can log into class and get started on my assignments. I love going to school although it has had its challenges and obstacles. There are many kinds of obstacles a college student must overcome to be successful in school.

As a result, the major obstacles I need to overcome to be successful in school are personal and academic. I think I am a very quiet and shy person for my age. My boyfriend is the only one working right now to support our family. We just rake and scrape to get by some months. I generally have a lower self esteem about things. I hope returning to school will not only elevate my self-esteem to a new level, but also help me to interact with other more intelligently and frequently. 

Academically, my fear of failure has always been an obstacle for me. To not understand something after I have read or seen its operation several times gets me very frustrated. Once I get over the obsession of failing, I could be a very intelligent person. Some common obstacles most people face in their life is the lack of motivation and drive. Therefore, overcoming these obstacles will help me in the long run with not only my life but with my school work and family.

Making myself proud and getting my degree is something I have dreamed about my whole life. I have always wanted to go to college and have a fancy degree so that my family would be proud of me and my son has someone to follow in example. I am looking forward to the day when my family has something good to say about me and can say that they are actually proud of me. 

I also want to give my son a better life. I want to raise my son to be a better person and to know that you can make your dreams come true if you work hard for it and believe in yourself. In order to make my sons life better I need to work hard and get my degree so that I can open my own business to pass down to my son one day.

In conclusion, I plan to overcome my personal and academic obstacles so that I can get my bachelors degree and open up my own business. I will then have the money to give my son and family a good life. Then I will be proud of myself and have a better self esteem. Also my family and my son will be proud of me and my son will have a good role model to look up to. My son will have good values and morals and will know that he can do anything he wants in life if he tries hard and sticks with it and to never give up and keep going.
