Dads Birthday Surprise: Watching the Dallas Pro Team

My plane lands at Dallas, with just me and my dad. My dad has given me a special treat for my birthday. The gift is that I can watch the Dallas Cowboys play in person. My dad drives me to the stadium. As I admire it, I thought that this was the longest stadium I ever have seen. As I walk onto the football stadium, I feel the cool air rise into my spine.

I feel the importance of this game because the next time I will go to a game would probably be in a long time.

The Cowboys players run onto the field with flames bursting out of the stadium. As I see the Cincinnati Bengals on the opposite side of the field butterflies in my stomach. I always hope that the quarterback won't get picked off or will get sacked. Every time the Cowboys catch a ball or runs for more than 15 ten yards, I will jump out of my seat and cheer the Cowboys on.

When the football team runs down the field I can hear everybody going insane. Before the ball is snapped everything is at silence, there is nothing but silence on the field. This silence gives me time to think and decide how one mistake could kill the Cowboys. Because of this, I take my time to observe the defense, and I try to think what play they will pull off. The game went on, it was a close one. The quarterback throws, he gets a 30-yard throw off to a wide receiver wide open downfield, he jumps up with a catch off a defender and runs for the end zone.

The Cowboys score! The final score is Cowboys 25-Bengals 15. The first game was by far my favorite part of the season not only because we won by a lot but that first game was the beginning of the long journey. I never understood that football could show me so much life. The main thing that is crucial is that you can watch someone or two individuals into doing their agility or even their best action. The night started with a kick and cheering all around to the Cowboys winning. The sideline always roars loudly. For the Cowboys they got a three and out stop not giving the other team a chance to score, then scoring was one of the things I will remember forever. The Cowboys finished with a perfect record, 13-3. After that, they got into the playoffs but they, unfortunately, lost to the Packers. Taking everything into myself, I never realized that a game could give me such this much interest. The most important knowledge I’ve gained from football is that anybody can be a leader or an athlete, it doesn’t make a difference in your ability or identity.

It doesn’t matter who you are, all that matters is that you can guide someone or several people into doing their job or even the right thing to do. Being a leader is a big trait to have especially in sports and that’s something I inhabited over the season which started with just that one game.
