The fight takes place on the last Wednesday of August in the Spanish town of Bunol where more than 30,000 people gather to throw more than 240,000 pounds of tomatoes at each other. Another unique festival is “Las Fallas”, which means “the fires” in Valencian. On this day thousands of people gather to destroy ninots (“puppets” or “dolls”), that are made of cardboard. These ninots are assembled by neighborhood organizations which take almost the entire year to construct.

The construction of the ninots is time consuming and they can cost up to US$75,000. In conclusion, the country of Spain and its distinct culture inspired by the Spanish people remains to be special until today. I think that the Spanish culture is awesome to the point that I would consider myself Hispanic if it was up to me. I think that I would really enjoy a visit to Spain especially if I can celebrate one of their unique festivals with them. Finally, no matter what, I will always be proud of the Spanish culture and the fact that I have Spanish friends.
