Various plans, programs and policies in the organization do not work themselves. There is need in the justice system to mobilize the performance of the employees.

Higher performance is to be ensured and supervisory effort to be coordinated. Caol McKinney stated his views in his article that in the criminal system various theories of leadership are used by the police administrations, which help them to influence the performance and productivity of the administrations and utilizing the limited resources.

As per the modern organizational theories, in the criminal justice organization mainly three kinds of classical and contemporary theories are going to be used situational leadership, trait theory and style theory but the most effective and important theory is the modern situational theory of leadership. According to Caol, this theory helps the administration to cope up with the constantly changing environment of the criminal justice organizations (McKinney, 2008).
