I. Subject Description:
This course is intended to develop students’ skills in the use of the English language in the context of teaching profession. Like any course in English for Specific Purposes, it is anchored on the philosophy that the students’ mastery of the English language should be developed, primarily, along his discipline of his specialization.
II. General Objectives:
A. General
At the end of the semester, the students will be able to:
1. Distinguish the relativity and significance of ESP to English language Proficiency Assessment.
2. Assess English language learners.
3. Develop knowledge about assessment.
B. Specific
1. Point out differences of ideas between the usage of ESP in a specific field and English language proficiency.
2. Define English Language Proficiency Assessment.
3. Identify the English Language learners.
4. Enumerate the target feature of English Language Proficiency.

Domain 2- LEARNING ENVIRONMENT
Strand 2.1- Maintains a learning environment of courtesy and respect for different learners.

Strand 5.3- Develops and utilizes creative and variety of appropriate assessment strategies to monitor and evaluate learning.
IV. LICENSURE EXAMINATION FOR TEACHERS (LET) COMPETENCIES
1. Distinguish the roles of stakeholders (students, teachers, employers, parents and community) in the delivery of the curriculum.
2. Organize the learning environment that promotes fairness regardless of culture, family background and gender responsive to learners’ needs and difficulties. 3. Utilized process data and results in reporting and interpreting learners’ performance to improve teaching and learning.
