These agreements procure a set of common standards and accomplish targets to reduce carbon emissions, manage the risks of climate commute and natural disasters and to construct back better after a crisis. (united nation web site, n.d.) Part 1How did the issue leading to the Sustainable Development Goal begin?Education is an ultimate ownership of every human being, and it is also the most powerful tool we have for sustainable development. Currently, over 265 million children are out of schools and 22% of them are of primary school age. Because of progress has also faced tough challenges in developing regions due to high levels of poverty, armed conflicts and other emergencies. So, even children who attend to schools do not have the basic reading skills and mathematics skills. Great strides have been made to increase access to education at all levels and in particular to increase the school enrollment rate for girls, over the past decade. (united nation web site, n.d.) According to that process the basic literacy skills have improved widely and also succeeding universal educational goals requires bold efforts to make even greater improvements. The reasons which are of quality education defect, Weakness of adequately trained teachers. Poor conditions of schools. Equity issues related to opportunities provided to rural children. (united nation web site, n.d.)What is the relevance of this issue? In past time period mainly, developing countries were build more schools and educational centers, primary and secondary education levels have been got more enrolments have been taken place, and participation of girls and boys count were in proportional level. (mdg monitor web site, n.d.) According to above factors the levels which student literacy have been improved generally, although courageous contrivances are furthermore wanted to fulfil the international education goals thereto more accomplish. In Sri Lankan society has been increased their number of educated youths as a developing society, in this way all other developing societies have been increased the number of educated youths, the global rate of qualified labor force will have consequently increased by the UN. According to this factor will in turn abate the number of foreign workers in these developing countries draw abundant local and foreign investments as investors will have the evocative of security wanted as far as availability of qualified employees is concerned. As a final result of this is stretch the proportion of employment the society’s to alleviation in poverty, development in returns for companies and businesses as qualified employees then as a result of it will certainly increment productivity, and as a consequence, stretch in income of the government. (mdg monitor web site, n.d.) Who or what is affected by this issue?Children in poorer households are four times more likely stay away school than children in the richest families. Rural and urban disparities have greatly affected this situation. Similarly, school children who are in primary school age live in conflict affected areas. Similarly, gender equality, relevant school infrastructure, equipment, educational elements and resources and also lack of facilities and grants to award scholarships is mainly due to the problem. (unesco web site, n.d.) It also affects children with disabilities, indigenous people, children in conflict-affected areas, children in rural areas, and girls worldwide. (unesco web site, n.d.)What can be done to reach this SDG? A system of education that is guaranteed to be equal to all, through establishing minimum of 12 years of compulsive education is with relevant learning outcomes. Provide public funds for this purpose and procure primary and secondary education which have been fair and quality. (campaign for education web site, n.d.) Encouraging well-trained educators to provide early childhood development and care by providing at least one year of free and quality pre-primary education. (campaign for education web site, n.d.) The learning opportunities should be enhanced and characterized by the use of higher education and training methods, where problem solving, critical thinking, teamwork creativity and conflict resolution skills should be given priority. It can also be used to improve the quality of education in Sri Lanka. (campaign for education web site, n.d.) All persons should have access to reasonable quality education and lifelong learning opportunities. It should not be based on issues such as gender, age, race, ethnicity, language, religion, etc. This is an ongoing situation in Sri Lanka and all girls and boys in Sri Lankan society have the opportunity to enjoy higher education as well as to enjoy the same benefits. All developing societies should be follow this. (campaign for education web site, n.d.)How is the SDG connected to the other 16 SDGs?Education is an ultimate ownership and it is also most powerful tool have sustainable development. The quality of education is linked to other sustainable development goals as follows;Poverty cannot be eradicated without education, children in low-income countries have not basic reading skills, and 171 million people can escape poverty by providing quality education. (Their world web site, n.d.)Education is also important to nourish the children by increasing their nutrition. All mothers in low-income countries should have at least secondary education. That could save 12 million children from malnutrition. (Their world web site, n.d.)If there is an illness, everyone should be aware of the circumstances that led up to that illness. An uneducated family or society cannot attain that understanding. Therefore, all women should have at least a secondary education, which can reduce their infant mortality rate by 49%. (Their world web site, n.d.)Being educated also helps to reduce the number of maternal deaths in infant births. All women are comprehension by providing primary education. Maternal deaths can be reduced by 66%. (Their world web site, n.d.)Education is also important for women and girls to stand up for their rights. With the right education, they can raise their voice for their rights. Therefore they can reduce the early fewer marriages by 64% and also early fewer pregnancies by 59%. (Their world web site, n.d.)Without education, developed economic growth cannot be achieved.one year of schooling is associated with the 10% increase in wage earnings.Accordingly the above explanations we can achieve education without sustainable development. Protect our planet and build a more exclusive, equal and peaceful world and also the sustainable development depend with education. (Their world web site, n.d.)Part 2Come up with a matric/indicator to measure and monitor the progress of the SDG.Using the Ecological Footprint and the Human Development Index (HDI) is the one of most suitable simple way to appraise the sustainable development. (footprint network web site, n.d.)Apply the matric to a current locality and asses its current status.Nowadays, population level calculations have estimated 1.7 hectares globally as the biologically effective surface area that only one person on our planet can use. The current global hectare per capita needs to be significantly reduced if we want to allow wildlife to survive and expand its human population. Also the United Nations defines the Human Development Index as 0.7 in order to achieve maximum growth (For very high development this can be taken as 0.8). The above two limitations can be cited as two minimum criteria of global sustainable development. There, the Human Development Index is at least 0.7 and the average footprint is less than 1.7 hectares. The social and environmental factors and the potential for trade in each developing country vary greatly. However, the global sustainable development can be achieved by lowering the current global population of 1.7 hectares per capita. (footprint network web site, n.d.) Because both the Ecological Footprint and the Human Development Index applies to various geographic scales (globe, region, country, community), this framework can be used to track sustainable development progress.
