2. What do you think of state of Adult Nursing in Britain at present?A predicted increase in numbers of people dying at very old age will affect health and social care services. It will mean changes for adult nurses. The researchers found that In England the number of people aged 75 and over is predicted to double over the next 25 years. With more people dying at a very old age they are more likely to have multiple co-morbidities, both physical and mental, including such conditions as dementia, cancer, chronic diseases. Cancer and chronic diseases account for more than two in five deaths, researchers have found. Nurses will need to be well trained and respond to meet the individual's needs according to the situation. For example, a person with cancer nearing the end of life might require additional care for a condition such as dementia. Nurses will need to be more skilled in communication, holistic assessment, care planning including advance care planning, life-prolonging treatments and mental illnesses. It would be good if the whole question of care of the elderly people could be re-examined, and adult nurses could be trained to meet the needs of these people appropriately. Elderly people can continue to live comfortable life they deserve in a properly adapted environment to suit them and be treated with respect.3.How do you handle stress?Working with people is very stressful as they all are individuals with different believes and approach. When it comes to stressful situations for example client is scared to have his mole removed and being very distressed during procedure. At this point I am trying to distract myself by talking to client asking different questions and telling something funny form my own life, this normally works well. I manage stressful situations by staying calm and thinking logically. There is nothing I can do about this right so I will have to deal with it the way it is like preparing a plan what am I going to do next. 4.What do you think about nursing role?I think nurses are vital people to the communities and hospitals, if we did not have nurses all health sector would crash and there will be no body to take care of people. Of course, there are doctors, but they play different role and are extremely busy all the times. Nurses are those health care professionals who patient will normally see from first assessment to a discharge. They assist doctors in the theatres with operations, looking after patients in the ward, working in the communities, army and prisons. Doing variety of tasks every day, administrating medicine, taking blood and many more. They also are communicators between doctors and patients. 5.Explain why communication is important?I think communication is one of the most important things in life. If we do not communicate properly there are big chance for error to accrue. Poor communication leads to misunderstanding of situation and have potential of causing damage to a business or to people. Without communication none of the establishment ever work. By communicating we pass the message so sufficient communication is the key of success and prevention of an error. 6. What experience have you had working in a team?I enjoyed being the part of the team and supporting the team as the good communication makes the working day more enjoyable and raises the job satisfaction. Being part of the team, I also liked the autonomy of working by my own and independence of making my own decisions within the level competency. I think that good interpersonal skills are the basis of effective communication between team members. From my life experience I have learned to be courteous and show respect to other people with different beliefs and interests, avoid stereotyping and making judgements. Of course, not everything runs smoothly. When there was the breakdown in teamwork, or some issues needed to be discussed we gathered for the team meetings. Active listening and assertiveness helped team members to express themselves in an open way and listened to other people's point of view. Then we worked together to find an agreed resolution to the problem. I think it is very important in team work to receive constrictive criticism and provide feedback. It is not always easy but it delivers the areas of improvement, enhances the team climate and have positive impact on work.7.What do you know about NHS? NHS is government founded health service in the UK which means is it free for everyone to use except for some additional charges in dental and optical services and prescriptions. We also contribute towards it by paying National Incurrence contributions each month. NHS is the biggest public sector employer in the UK and has around 1.5 million employees. NHS formed in 1948 and this was the first time when every health care professional came together to offer free health care for everyone regardless wealth.
