Economy and Population of Ethiopia

Categories: Population

Background of the Study

Both the economy and population of Ethiopia is growing fast and the population of Mekelle much faster. Indeed, Ethiopia's young and growing population present the country with a youth bulge and with the opportunities and risks that come with it. The 2007/Ec./ Population Census of Ethiopia shows that 63% of Mekelle population is in the age group of 25 years. This can be a positive potential for tomorrow's Ethiopia if it is known how to use it, but if not, it can destroy itself and the entire nation's future.

Currently, Ethiopia is working towards the 'renaissance' of the country.
