Reaping Success from Failure Essay
Reaping Success from Failure
Thomas Edison said, “Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.” Failure is an act of proving unsuccessful, and it is also the nonperformance of something due, required, or expected. (Online Etymology Dictionary., n.d.). Nevertheless an individual can overcome the failures in his life by living the present, by focusing on achieving his goals in life and by not worrying about his problems.
In committing failure, a person forgets what his purpose in life, and that is to live, particularly the present. The big question is, why does everyone fear failure? Is it because of the shame that they have experienced? Or is it because they do not want someone to have an edge over them? If they do not want to experience failing again, they should think about something different that they will do next time. Plan A could have failed, but there are still a lot of possible and infinite ways to do it. Always keep in mind to never give up, just look at Steve Jobs the man who created the MacBook, iPad, iPhone, iTunes store and iPod, he got fired from the company he established, but never lost hope and so, he overcame his problems in order to become successful. Life goes on, and everyone must accept what had happened, what is happening and what will happen in order to live life to the fullest. In order to attain peace of mind and calmness of heart, one must forget about the past that causes him pain because it is irretrievably gone, it is never coming back.
In a failure, an individual should also focus on achieving his goals in life because sometimes conflicts may rise, and this may affect him emotionally. Unexpected things happen, and one must always be prepared what’s in store for him. Failure happens and is encountered in family. Family life is full of ups and downs, twist and turns and that surely, family problems may arise, but he should always have a positive outlook about it because if he takes it in a negative manner this will just cause depression, and it will only lower his self-esteem and self-confidence. Always remember that even though family problems arise, they will always be there with him through thick and thin and will never leave his side, until the end of time.
Failure also happens through peers. Friends are the ones who will be there when he needs someone to listen to his problems, make him laugh, someone whom he can share all his secrets with, accept his naughty quirks and they are the ones who complete the missing piece in his life. Though, change is the only permanent thing in this world and everything might change in just a blink of an eye. Miscommunication, betrayal and repeated arguments build up. These are a few causes why failure to peers happens. The best solution in this problem is to resolve the problem right away, and do not wait any longer.
Everyone experiences failure so one must stop worrying about it and must keep in mind that failure also has positive outcomes towards life. For a person to accept the real meaning of failure he must not put his standards high. Also, he must realize the reality from fantasy: it means he must not ask for perfection because even the most-intelligent man in this world commits mistake. A quote from Maxwell Maltz, saying “You make mistakes; mistakes do not make you.” It goes to show that even though someone experiences failure, it does not define the real him because mistakes can be corrected as well as failure. Failure also leads an individual to better chances and most importantly opens doors to opportunities. Everything happens for a reason, and that God has plans for everyone you do not need to know what his plans are, you just need to live life the way it should be.
Everyone comes across failure. In overcoming failure, they just need to embrace it and accept it rather than seeing it as a hindrance in attaining success. No man attains success without failing something. Always remember that God throws challenges that a person can face, he just needs to believe in himself that he could do it.
