Proudlie’s Xtreme Sports Club Essay
Proudlie’s Xtreme Sports Club
Proudlie’s Xtreme Sports Club which is also known as PXtreme has been running in Hong Kong for 10 years and was founded by Ozzy Kumar in 1993. He came up with the idea of setting up this club when he realized that one of the only things which H. K was missing were extreme sports. The club has been fairly successful in the past in terms of its members, services and popularity. The number of people enrolling for the club is constantly increasing. At the moment the club serves 180 members.
The club started out as offering BMX, skateboarding and inline skating services and training. Sports offered in this club have changed over time because of the constantly changing trends. Currently the club offers bungee jumping, sky diving and snowboarding. To be a member of this club or to be a part of one of the training and summer programs you have to be legally above the age of 16. The membership fees for people between 16 – 20 years old is $100 and the fees for anyone above 20 is $500.
The membership lasts for one year, after which you must renew your membership with an additional fee or your membership will be suspended. For the bungee jumping and snow boarding classes you will be required to go to New Zealand and sky diving will be done in Hong Kong. The club offers highly trained professionals for each sport and they will be your instructors for the classes and programmes. Location and address:
PXtreme is located at 55 Fat Kwong Street, Ho Man Tin, Kowloon, Hong Kong. Fat Kwong Street runs parallel to Nathan Road, intersecting with Jordan Road at the North and Austin Road at the South. If traveling from Hong Kong Island via the Cross Harbor Tunnel, take the left most exit immediately following the toll gates on the Kowloon side. Look for exits marked for Jordan Road. If traveling south on the main Kowloon Expressway, exit at Tsim Sha Tsui, staying in the right hand-lane.
Turn right at the traffic lights into Austin Road and head along Austin Road past the Hamza Fan Club and Kowloon Bowling Green Club, before turning right into Fat Kwong Street. If traveling to the club via the MTR, leave the subway at Jordan Station via Exit B2 towards Queen Elizabeth Hospital. You will surface above ground on Jordan Road and directly in front, at the traffic lights just past the bus stop, is the intersection with Fat Kwong Street. PXtreme is approximately 80m along Fat Kwong Street. Please refer to the map at the back for more details.
