Learning how to cook chili:

Ever wonder a way to feed your whole family for cheap and how to cook a belly filling yet, not time consuming meal? Well, if you follow these instructions it’s a proven method to cook a great meal that is satisfying and that doesn’t take all day to prepare and cook. First you must prepare to make this hearty soup of chili. To begin you must have all the ingredients to make the meal. You will need 1 lb. of hamburger meat (lean hamburger if you want a healthier version), 1 medium onion, 2 cans of dark red kidney beans, and 2 cans of chili ready stewed tomatoes, 1 can of V8 tomato juice, 1 cup of water, 1 bottle of chili powder, salt and pepper. Also, saltine crackers are a great addition to the ingredients if you like crackers with your soup. The kitchen equipment that you will need to make this meal is 1 ladle, 1 spatula, a large size pot, a medium size pan, 1 can opener, 1 knife and a strainer. While you’re getting all this together to can make sure your burner for your large pot is heated to medium high and the burner for the medium size pan heated to high.

To start this meal you must fry your hamburger until it is no longer pink in the medium sized pan set on high stirring frequently. As this is cooking place your large size pot on the burner set on high and pour the 1 can of tomato juice and 1 cup of water into the pan. At this time you can peel the first layer off the medium onion and cut it in half and diced half of it into little slices and mix in with the soup mix in the large pot and bring to a boil. The next thing you need to do is open the 2 cans of kidney beans and 2 cans of stewed tomatoes. Once open, strain the kidney beans and add to the soup, open the 2 cans of tomatoes and directly add to the soup and bring to a boil. Stir occasionally. After you have your soup mix in the large pot set for boil, your hamburger will be done frying and at this time take your spatula and try to dice and crush the hamburger into thin pieces then strain.

After the grease is strained out add to the soup mix that should still be boiling at this point and mix well with your ladle. Once all of that is mixed together you will add a pinch of salt, a pinch of pepper and the chili powder. The seasoning part of this recipe is really up to the consumer and the acquired taste of the person that is eating this meal. The more chili powder put into the soup the spicier the flavor will be. So, just be mindful before pouring in a half cup of chili powder! Mix well.

Cover the large pot and set burner to simmer and let set for an hour or until the dark red kidney beans are soft to the touch. After the desired time, let cool, serve in a bowl and add saltine crackers if desired. Finally, you have made a one pot meal that is good on a cold or rainy day or just when you have had a long day and don’t feel like spending a bunch of time on a hearty healthy meal and one that will leave you with left overs that taste just as good as the day before. If you followed the instructions and ingredients I have given above then I guarantee you that this will be a soup you will want to keep in your recipe book and pass down to your children and so on.
