You will need 1 lb. of hamburger meat (lean hamburger if you want a healthier version), 1 medium onion, 2 cans of dark red kidney beans, and 2 cans of chili ready stewed tomatoes, 1 can of V8 tomato juice, 1 cup of water, 1 bottle of chili powder, salt and pepper. Also, saltine crackers are a great addition to the ingredients if you like crackers with your soup. The kitchen equipment that you will need to make this meal is 1 ladle, 1 spatula, a large size pot, a medium size pan, 1 can opener, 1 knife and a strainer.

After the grease is strained out add to the soup mix that should still be boiling at this point and mix well with your ladle. Once all of that is mixed together you will add a pinch of salt, a pinch of pepper and the chili powder. The seasoning part of this recipe is really up to the consumer and the acquired taste of the person that is eating this meal. The more chili powder put into the soup the spicier the flavor will be. So, just be mindful before pouring in a half cup of chili powder! Mix well.

Cover the large pot and set burner to simmer and let set for an hour or until the dark red kidney beans are soft to the touch. After the desired time, let cool, serve in a bowl and add saltine crackers if desired.
