Poverty In Kiran's Life

Kiran Singh was a young 8-year-old boy. Kiran and his family went hungry for several days. His parents did not have much money and they couldn’t give Kiran the basic needs Kiran wanted to help his parents, so he tried to get a part time job. There were some people kind enough to help him. With the money Kiran got, he supported his family. He also started making drinks like tea, lemonade, and coffee and started selling that in a roadside stall.

Kiran had a very poor life but he pushed himself to make sure that his family could meet the basic needs.Kiran learnt how to make food by observing from restaurants outside as they wouldn’t let him since he was young. Poverty in IndiaSo many people lived in poverty at that time. Around 178 million people lived in poverty in India, especially around the time period from 1994 to 2012. As the years go by poverty decreases. Comparing the poverty in 1993 and 2011 in the chart above, the poverty rate has decreased a lot.

Kiran Singh was in poverty around the year of 1980.

By the time Kiran was 12, he was able to go to school with the money he had been earning for the past 4 years. Kiran was going to a village school without basic amenities, but he worked really hard in spite of all the hardships he faced. Kiran thought of investing his profits back into business but education was a priority for him so he used that to pay for his school fees.

Kiran’s parents also worked hard, and earned enough to feed him and support his studies. They also started making small savings to fund Kiran’s higher studies. Kiran managed to get scholarships in all his school years and so he did not create burden on his parents.

Kiran completed his undergraduate while working part-time. He graduated in computer science with top honours and received a great job offer from a top software company. When he received his first paycheck he brought gifts to his parents as they had put a lot of sacrifices for him, he also started helping other poor kids to complete their education.Overcoming Poverty because of Kiran’s sheer determination and his hard work every single day, him and his family are growing to a better life every day. His family’s food was really popular in his local town that they opened a family restaurant and started a business. Poverty in India is an important issue. Poverty means the lack of food, proper shelter, clothing, medicines, education, and equal human rights. Taking necessary steps to develop health and education areas is a good way to decrease poverty. ConclusionKiran was so brave throughout his childhood. He faced so many challenges but he persevered through them and never gave up. He would do anything to keep him and his family safe and happy. All the work he had done for years, paid off in the future. He went to a great university, and works as an engineer with a top software company.
