The importance of Ashara Mubaraka

My Dear friends and my dear brothers, a pleasant greeting to all of you. I wish you all are in are in a great health, physically and spiritually as well as in your academic life. May Allah Taala grant you a happy life in this world and the hereafter.

Hence forward, I would like to introduce myself before starting off this speech. I am a student of Al Jamea Tus Saifiyah Nairobi, I have written this article to discuss the importance of attending Ashara Mubaraka from the first day (second muharram) until the last day (tenth muharram) with full concentration and giving your total commitment.

I would like to start convey about the importance of Ashara Mubaraka by three major perspectives: firstly, logical and psychological points; secondly, the scientific benefits and lastly some facts and figures, which will consist of Quranic ayats and kalemaat nooraniyah.

Firstly, lets take a deep look in understanding that what is Ashara Mubaraka? Ashara Mubaraka is a period of ten days which is reserved for the remembrance of Imam Husain and the companions who were slaughtered cruelly by the enemies without being given a sip of water or a bit of food and to grieve and sob on his noble and royal family who were tortured and harassed by the pity less tyrants by making them walk barefoot from Karbala to Sham.

Hence, this mournful event (the martyrdom of Imam Husain) is the key reason for the existence of our religion, as it is stated many a times by Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin that if Husain did not accept to sacrifice his life, the kalemat -u - shahadat would wipe off.

Now let's come to the psychological point which you all might be thinking about, that if I attend this congregations (waaz mubaraka) consistently for ten days, I will miss a lot of my important school lessons. Yes, it is obviously true, but the vaaz mubaraka expressed by Maula is more superior and prominent than the lessons taught in the school as it has divine barakat and hikmat in it. Not only this, but it will help you in your school studies as Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin has stated that the zikr if Imam Husain is the extraction (?????) of all knowledge.

Moreover, it is absolutely obligatory for you, my friends! To attend all vaaz mubaraka as you all study science and Maula consequently affirms upon many scientific facts and connects them with our religion in a very impressive and a unique manner which could help you to excel in your school studies. Thus, by joining any knowledge to the zikr of imam Husain, the knowledge purely becomes a spiritual knowledge. So, these ten days are not a holiday from your studies but is a key opportunity to gain maximum amount of knowledge and ilm you can which will truly be barakat for you in your school studies as well as your intercessor on the day of judgement.

Furthermore, it has been recorded that a student scored 99.2% with the fact that he attended all the ten vaaz mubaraka. This is not a canard but a clear fact. Thus, this barakat can be witnessed directly in front of us and the spiritual barakat and sawab that we achieve is uncountable and infinite.

Now let's take a step towards discussing some logical points. As we all believe that our Maula is our spiritual father and mother and are noble mentor , so why will he make an order which would harm , pain or make loss to his beloved children ? of course, this would be too erroneous and improper for a father to do this to his children, but our Maula has ordered this truly and surely for the betterment and up growth for our lives and not to cause difficulty in our lives.

Moreover, as we all are students and our final aim is to pass the test and score good marks. For this aim we need to prepare ourselves and work hard. On the other hand, our life is a test and Ashara Mubaraka is also a test to gain Jannat, so by removing a single tear will reward us Jannat, as Syedna Mufaddal has stated that " if a tear on Imam Husain comes out, my job is done". So, the preparation as said above is the ohbat we do for Ashara mubaraka before it comes forward. This ohbat is both, physically and mentally, for example the appropriate attire for the waaz and the preparation to mourn and remove plenty of tears.

Secondly, Now let's discuss some Quranic ayats, kalemaat and bayan on the importance of the zikr of Imam Husain. Firstly, it is said in Al Quran Al Majeed that (8:24) " O you all who have brought iman! respond upon the call of Allah and Rasulullah which will make you alive". At this current moment Maula is calling upon us to attend Ashara mubaraka on time from the first waaz mubaraka until the last, so this will make us alive and give us a spiritual and the internal life in our soul.

Furthermore, Allah Taala has also stated that (20:124) "And whoever turns away from My remembrance - indeed, he will have a depressed life, and We will gather him on the Day of Qiyamat blind" Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin has elaborated this ayat in the zikr of Imam Husain as he states that one who turns away from the zikr of Imam Husain he will have an atrocious life and will live a depressing life and on the other hand , by the zikr of Imam Husain you will gain prosperous life in this world and the hereafter.

Lastly, let us discuss some scientific benefits of lamentation and weeping on Imam Husain. It is scientifically proven that crying has many physical benefits on our body. Firstly , crying helps to fights bacteria and to keep the eyes clean, as tears contain a fluid called lysozyme which has such powerful antimicrobial properties that could help to reduce risks presented by bioterror agents, such as anthrax. Secondly, it improves vision as tears keeps our eyes moist and prevent mucous membranes from drying out and makes our vision clear and sharpen our eyes. On the other hand, Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin states that lamenting on Imam Husain sharpens our eyes.

In addition, we can say that the order that has been summoned upon us by our Maula certainly contains thousands of hikmat which cannot be interpreted by our small minds but we tried to find a drop from the uncountable hikmat in our little ability.

In conclusion, we must prepare our self and over come all the obstacles that might obstruct us such as school, exams, time or whatever it might be and attend the vaaz mubaraka from the first day until the last and always starve towards the happiness of our Maula.

Lastly,May Allah Taala grant us tawfeeq to attend Ashara Mubaraka on time and grant our Maula Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, who always struggles towards the betterment of our lives a long and a prosperous life until the day of qiyamat.
