Ensuring Employees Cohesiveness

Employees in the different departments will work cohesively as a team only when they unitedly work to achieve a common goal. In Richard’s case, there exists a partial bond among the employees as some of them are part of the family. Individuals working as a team tend to focus on the entire group rather than their individual selves and are more motivated to work towards their goal. A perfect team can be built by improving communication, engagement, and also allowing them to socialize outside the workplace. There are four stages in team development that can be used to improve employee’s cohesiveness. These four stages are forming, storming, norming, and performing.

  • Forming: It includes establishing clear objectives, group, and individual goals and implementing team building activities.
  • Storming: It includes establish structures and procedures that are followed by all team members, resolve conflicts if any exist.
  • Norming: It includes ensuring everyone’s participation in their common goals. Implement team-building activities both inside and outside of the workplace will help to keep communication open and active.
  • Performing: It includes proper execution of all the pre-planned steps, forecasting and targeting new goals also ensuring everyone is on the same page.

Richard has found new segments for business expansion Richard has identified new segments in the business. • Industry events: These can be a bit pricey but one of the best ways to teach your team and keep up to speed on what’s happening in your industry is to attend industry events. Industry-specific events, like trade shows and conferences, are a great opportunity to learn about the latest trends and find out about new strategies others are using in your industry.
  • Online learning: Another way to educate your team and keep their skills sharp is to leverage the wide variety of learning tools available online.
  • Implement a mentorship program: In a mentorship program, partner junior-level employees with a more senior team member on a similar career track who can act as a mentor, helping to train them and prep them for future growth within your company.
