“The only real treasure is in your head. Memories are better than diamonds and nobody can steal them from you” by Rodman Philbrick, The Last Book in the Universe. Memories are Life. If someone asks us that what actually if life, so we would say life is all about the memories. The good or the or the worst of all, and the best of all memories makes up our life. Basically, our brain is the most powerful and important part of our body, but for the brain, memory is the most important and essential part of it.
Memories build life, memories build you as a person. Each day we put on practice, skills, new stuff on our mind that we learned and live our life. If we weren’t able to remember what we did yesterday we would never be able to do the next thing. We plan to do something, we intend to create something, we decide what to do over this weekend or later that month and if we don’t remember all these things that we actually planned way ahead we would be completely clueless.
Memories help us to retrieve our information our plans our thoughts that has been stored before.
Without memory it’s like we have never lived before, never experienced anything. After witnessing a patient going through Traumatic brain injury, who lost his memory for a while, arose a question that what if memories never existed what if there was no room for memories in our life then what could have happened.
Memories is like a guideline or a map to our life to our future. We re live through our memories. Knowing that this particular decision is not good or is going to affect you in a bad way, this instinct feeling is generated by the help of our memories. As a matter of fact, we experience a lot of feelings in our life since beginning, we go through the outcomes of our choices whether it’s bad or good, therefore we know what to do and how to do it so we can save ourselves from ending up in a bad situation again and again.
Memories carry emotions with them may be one or more than one but feelings and emotions are associate with the memories. It is precisely the emotions that gets us to learn from our experiences so that we can in the upcoming future we know how to make decisions that will cause more pleasant emotional state. But yes, there is something to our memories that is no matter how hard we try to forget anything we aren’t able to forget because it is imprinted on our minds and it’s difficult to get over it. Memories do warm you up from the inside but as a fact, they may tear you apart. We need memories in our life not just to travel from somewhere to our destination or just to pass an exam. But because memories makes us remember who we are, what we chose to be a person and what people we have by our side.
