Grete Samsa is a young woman, the sister of the man who is transformed into a giant insect in the novella, Metamorphosis, by Franz Kafka. She is a sympathetic character who is initially horrified by his transformation, but comes to accept it over time. Grete is a caring sister to Gregor, the protagonist, and is the only member of their family who seems to truly understand his plight. She is ultimately the one who convinces her parents to kill Gregor, putting an end to his suffering.
