To inform about the Kenyan economy

By the end of my speech the audience will be able to know about Kenya, the government and how women have been empowered, standards of living and education levels in individuals there.

Kenya is a third world country situated between two war-torn countries, Somalia and Uganda, The country is a low income, food deficient country where 52% of the people live below the poverty line, it is in East Africa, colonized by the British during the 60's.

Kenya has come way too far in terms of education, development, and the view of women in power.

Today I am going to inform you about Kenya, personally I was born in Kenya, I am so proud of this country over years not everybody did afford to go to school, school was only ,meant for the rich people, because they can afford to pay their kid's tuition fee and those who are poor will work in the farms of the rich people to get their daily bread, so the rich people mistreated the poor by paying them less money after they do a big amount of job.

The only thing they can do with the money is to buy food for the family, so that means they cannot go to school.

The government has now made education free now, everybody can be able have to go to school, it is a little bit harder to secure a job there even if you have enough education, because of the population and the number of people who are going to school.

In the past few years women were not allowed to rule, but today at least 40% of is women and 60% are men, so there is a gradual positive increase in the number of women in power this means that women are now empowered.

Corruption in Education threatens the well being of the society because erodes social trust and worsens inequality. It sabotages development by undermining the formation of educated, competent, and ethical individuals for future leadership and labor force.

Generally, education has given most knowledge of the world around us and changes it to something better. It develops in us a perspective of looking at life. It helps us build opinions om view on different things in life it enables us to be confident about life.

TRASITIONAL STATEMENT

In the past women were not allowed to be in power, their work was to cook, bear children and take care of the family, but recently women have a right to rule and stand up for their rights. Generally, Kenya was patriarchal society.

Women are now voted for, but no women ever won for the presidential seat, but at least effort is made here to ensure women are free from gender-based violence.

There have been strategies that have been laid to ensure women participation inn peace-building, conflict prevention, and mitigation.

It is to assume that the future for women is bleak. If Kenya is to fully achieve gender equality and sustainable development goals, then women need the space and opportunity to determine and own their choices.

This can be anchored by resolve to have more women who can safeguard and uplift the rights and status of the girl-child.

Women are getting more empowered and seen as important people in the society, that they can now do much more than cooking, giving birth and taking care of the family.

TRASITIONAL STATEMENT

Most people in Kenya live below the poverty line. Although Kenya's economy enjoys the leading position in eastern and central Africa, most people there live below the poverty line. This severe poverty is mainly caused by undiversified economy, social inequality, government corruption, health problems and water crisis.

While Kenya has made admirable strides in reducing absolute poverty after it gained its independence from the British in the early 60's, this momentum waned off in its late 70s', and most of the population that are poor lives in rural areas.

The rural economy is almost entirely dependent on subsistence farming, and they depend on rain with very little irrigation or modern animal husbandry taking place. (Kenneth, R. K. (2016). Explosive population growth has strained infrastructure and services, driving more Kenyans to poverty.

Kenya has the highest population growth rates in the world, this puts enormous strain in the infrastructure and resources as every is struggling for a living.

Land markets in the rural areas have not been developed, possibility due to land insecurity.

Conclusion

In conclusion Kenya has made significant political, structural and economic reforms that have largely driven sustained economic growth, social development and political gains over the past decade. However, its key development challenges include poverty, inequality, climate change, and continued weak private sector investment.

Generally, education, poverty and economic development are important everywhere, in our daily lives we do stuff that we know are beneficial and we do everything with a purpose expecting for a positive outcome.

We should be thankful in whatever we have, some people don't even have the basics in life, they struggle, but due to the surrounding factors they end up with nothing achieved.
