Is World Full of Suffering
Is World Full of Suffering
Although the world is full of suffering, it is full also of the overcoming of it. Although the world is full of suffering, it is full also of the overcoming of it?. This literal and realistic statement said by one who has known suffering and has dealt with it. Helen Keller experienced a traumatic time as a child; being deaf and blind, she knew suffering but also knew that it is possible for it to be conquered and forgot. She suffered in this way as a child and her adult life was a good one because of this suffering. The most important element in any child?s life is to learn and grow. Does experiencing anguish and misery enable a child to flourish, consequently becoming a nurtured adult? A section in the novel which expresses their family’s suffering is when Franks sister, Margaret, his parents joy is taken ill. But when Margaret cries there is a high lonely feeling in the air and Dad is out of bed in a second, holding her to him.
Frank goes on to say when he passes the window where the streetlight shines in, you can see the tears on his cheeks and that’s strange because he never cries for anyone unless he has the drink taken from him. This is illustrating a very emotional scene but as the child is watching, due to his age and immaturity, he fails to realize his father is grieving through Margaret’s pain. This is a original way to show a child’s suffering through a novel as the reader is seeing the misery through the child’s eyes, but the pain being felt is by his father. We can’t escape from evil and the world’s cruelty. So proclaim many reflexions about life. Cruelty is in nature and also in man, who embodies the cruelty of life and the natural law of kill or be killed. Reality is cruel to the human being, strewn on the Earth, ignoring his destiny, submitting to death, unable to escape from fatal mourning, from the vicissitudes of luck, from suffering, from servitude and malice.
The cruelty between men, individuals, groups, religions and races is terrifying. The human being has in him a sound of monsters which he releases on all favorable occasions. Life fights cruelly against the cruelty of the world and resists with cruelty to the cruelty of life. All living beings kill and eat living beings. Faith, art, love, friendship and mental attitudes are among the ways of minimizing and overcoming the cruelty of the world. The human being is given over to the cruelty of the world. Hence, the necessity of a compromise, obtained through the mobilization of the myth to find supernatural comforts, through the mobilization of the imaginary to shelter the soul and through the mobilization of aesthetics and poetry to live reality plainly. Religious faith, as the faith in an idea, is a profound strength that helps to support and fight the cruelty of the world.
