On the 26 of February the shooting of Trayvon Martin in Sanford Florida is still a popular news case. Was it a hate crime, or just a total misunderstanding?

February 26th, Trayvon Martin was shoot and killed by George Zimmerman. George Zimmerman the neighbourhood watchman, saw a suspicious African American man going around, whit his hoodie on and something in his hands. Zimmerman was holding a close lock at Trayvon. Trayvon starting running, and Zimmerman went anther him.

We later know that Trayvon was just coming back from a 7 eleven store talking too his 16 year old girlfriend on the phone, and that in his hand he had a carton of ice tea and a bag of skittles, when he noticed that Zimmerman was watching him, he become nervous and started running, stated Trayvons girlfriend, who was on the phone with him until just seconds before he was killed.

There are some speculations about this case could be a police cover up, some of the witnesses who were questioned said they heard Trayvon screaming but the police, corrected them and said it was Zimmermans screams they heard.

Also the police didn’t want to relise the 911 calls that were made around the shooting.

In one of the 911 calls you could clearly hear someone screaming for help, forensic voice identification experts Tom Owen and Ed Primo has taken this recording and run it trough some tests and their conclusions is that the voice screaming is not the voice of George Zimmerman. This contradicts the statement that Zimmerman who claim this was an action of self-defence, told the police that it was he who was screaming for help. In the 911 call that Zimmerman made, he say at one point “They always get away” at that time he were chasing Trayvon, the operator told him to “Stand his ground”, and he didn’t need to follow the boy. When Zimmerman was taken in to questioning he told the police that when he was going back to the car Trayvon attack him, and he got punch in his nose and his had banged in the ground

But since they don’t have anything to compere the voice of Trayvon to the record they cant be absolutely sure whom the screams belong to. Zimmerman has also a history of calling 911, when some young African American boys where going around. This leads us to the speculations about the case could be a hate crime, and because of this the case has a lot of publicity, and followers. Many claim that if Trayvon vas a white boy this would never had happen.

There are a lot of information from Trayvon Martin´s side of the case, but there are little about information from Zimmerman’s point of weave. But in the Internet newspaper “The Week” they write that Trayvon had been suspended from school over an empty bag of marijuana, theft, and graffiti, and the father and brother of Zimmerman comment on the case that Trayvon beat and threatened to kill Zimmerman. .

March 21 in New York City hundred of peoples gathered for the “Million Hoodie March” to honour Trayvon.
