The death of his beloved friend Sameer totally changes him and after stopping the bad addiction he understands how unstatisfactory he was when he sees another alcoholic Maniyan, his plumber. Raghunandan's attempt to make the public aware about the different dimensions of this liquor addiction with the help of his TV show is the core of SPIRIT.

The movie really shows every dimension of different type of alcoholics. One is Raghunandan himself, another one is Maniyan- a plumber .

There is a scene where the bartender Johnson shows a man and warns Raghunandan that "He is having a drink but in your case the drink is having you". Through the assumptive and too much open nature of Raghunandan, Ranjith the director shows the audience how badly liquor can effect someones mental approach.

Even though the major portion of the movie is intended for the anti alcoholism, the movie also tries to draw the attention of audience to other relative topics like criminal nature of students. How to prevent these etc.

In the film Neena , Lal Jose packages the emotional turmoil as well as emotional drama. NEENA a bohemian female , heavily into alcohol but highly talented. One of her colleague's says Neena is a 'talent with a lot of tantrums'

Neena met with an accident and Vinay is called by the hospital staff from Neena's contacts. The doctor advises Vinay to take Neena to a well known rehab centre at the earliest since she is a complete alcoholic and a young person who can recover.After telling Nalini and feeling guilty, Vinay decides to take Neena to the rehab centre by posing as Neena's husband.

During the course of treatment Vinay starts to develop love feelings for Neena. Vinay even approaches Neena. This ashames Neena and begins to create distance from Vinay. She begins to avoid Vinay and tells him, she is in touch with her office colleague Karthik. Vinay who kept a certain decency in his relationship with Neena begins to be possessive and upset by Neena's approach. Counselor Pearl (Lena) explains to Vinay about Neena's behavior and says she knows that both Vinay and Neena aren't husband and wife. Whatever Neena said or done before her arrival to the Rehab Center was by the intoxicated effect of alcoholism and inebriated father-fixation.
