Burning fire flashed before their eyes as it was the Holocaust. Thousands of Jews worked with the sound of hammers hitting the metal. Elie Wiesel only fifteen years old working hard to be let free from the Holocaust. He inspired many people to never give up with whatever life brings you. Elie Wiesel was born in Sighet Romania on September 30, 1928. He taught religious education at a yeshiva. Elie’s grandpa’s and mom’s beliefs guided him. His father also guided him toward Judaism.

At age 15 he was forced to move out of his home and was moved to a very strict ghetto. Later on Elie’s family was moved to Auschwitz concentration camp. Elie is the child of Shlomo and Sarah Wiesel. He grew up with three sisters. His youngest sister was Tzipora and his older sisters were Hilda and Beatrice. Adolf Hitler was very cruel towards the Jews. He had them all placed in concentration camps. The jews were treated extremely poor and had to do very hard work.
