How limitless is technology exactly?

With the rate that technology is advancing right now, can it take over one's life completely? "The Veldt" by Ray Bradbury is a short story about a couple who purchase a "Happylife Home" to do the majority of their day by day tasks. It incorporates a nursery that will react and manifest to whatever an individual thinks. In this short story, Bradbury proposes of an innovation which is arriving at a point where it is never again supportive, yet destructive.

I think this story is a very well representative of the real world and it demonstrates very well the effects of technology when used improperly.

When anything is overused it becomes hazardous in many different ways. In Ray Bradbury's short story, it demonstrates how disastrous it is when humans rely completely on technology. I personally enjoyed this short story a lot because of the extensive and advanced creativity involved with the setting, events, and characters. Everyone is well developed and suits the story well, and the events are very authentic in an alternate reality/parallel universe sort of way.

As the story was reaching its climax, the scenarios I had with my unhealthy past played through my mind as vividly as can be.

One of the main reasons this story resonated with me very much was because I could put myself in the childrens' shoes. It truly made me feel a very absorbing connection with the story which made my reading experience a lot more compelling. As a young child, I've had instances where you could say I was addicted to technology because that was the only source of pleasure in my life.

I loved the boost in dopamine I received from video games. When I pass a level or accomplish an achievement that I've been trying to conquer for while in the game, I would have a high for literally weeks. Video games was like an alternate universe for me. For instance, I loved the game "Gangstar Vegas" (A game very similar to GTA). I could do whatever I wanted at the time without the disastrous repercussions involved in the real world. I loved the feeling of rebellion and these games were helping me fulfill some of my real world fantasies at the time. I was a very creative child so it felt like I was actually living in the game. I thought my life was an open world action-adventure game. Whenever I wasn't playing the game would just create scenarios in my head or just daydream about living life as the character in the game. My life quite literally revolved around whatever games I played.
