Sport related violence or hooliganism is a large problem in many countries, numerous incidents in eg. Italy, France, Greece and etc have ended in severe injuries and deaths. The word hooliganism and hooligan is associated with violence in sports particularly from 1970s in UK with the game of football. The term hooliganism means wilful and malicious destruction of the property of others the phenomenon, however, long preceded the modern term; for example, one of the earliest known instances of crowd violence at a sporting event took place in ancient Constantinople.

So in this paper I will be looking at the impact of hooliganism in sports. As there are no laws in India I will focus on the laws prevalent in other countries and how they can be incorporated in the Indian scenario to solve the problem of hooliganism in sports
