Elisabeth (2011) noted that Guccio Gucci was born in 1881 in Florence, Italy. In 1921, Gucci opened his initial shop in Florence which was dedicated in leather products. Gucci made rapidly its status for excellence by signing skilled craftsmen to work in his shop. This is how the House of Gucci was initiated. During the 1930s, Gucci designed hardware for his leather goods to look like horse bits and stirrups. In 1932, Gucci created the loafer shoe with a gilded snaffle.
To date, these are the only footwear on display in New York’s Museum of Modern Art.
In 1947, Gucci introduced its first iconic bag “Bamboo bag” which is still a company mainstay. Furthermore, Gucci has various competitors as the biggest competitor is Giorgio Armani.
The other home competitors are Versace and Dolce Gabanna. On the other hand, international competitors are Channel, Dior, Burberry and Ralph Lauren.
Gucci customers are considered as wealthy, high profile and fashion lovers. They like very shiny and printed products of bright colours as well as of glamorous touch. Due to high cost of Gucci products, it is assumed that Gucci customers are businessman/women, bloggers or stylist.
