Global Issues: Social Inequalities, Violence and Pollution

Our world today has numerous issues economically, politically, and socially. I think the three major problems in the society today are: the division of social class, violence, and pollution. Many think these problems can be solved by the government since they oversee us, but these issues can also be solved by, us the citizens, coming together as one.

Social class can be defined as a form of social stratification which can impact citizens either negatively or positively. It is based on a person's wealth, education level, sexuality, abilities, and even race.

Individuals living in the most minimal social classes face lack of money, but this also affects their way of life. For example, they don't have access to certain resources which can protect them from any risks like natural disasters, or medical problems. Our society being divided by such classes only teaches future generations that its okay to base someone's status of worth on what they own. This is why humanity is viewed with so much hatred because of how judgmental some can be and this is what leads to such violence.

Violence is a big issue in the present society because most feel that resulting to violence will solve all their problems. We see brutality in the media and if we see it, I'm sure there might even be younger children watching and thinking it's okay. If we teach younger children it's okay, then they will carry theses horrible habits into the future. The world many generations have built on would go to waste in a matter of a couple years if we keep going on this route.

Along with violence and social class, poverty is another main issue in our society. Our earth is covered in tons of plastic waste and is slowly falling apart due to the inconsiderate residents trashing our environments. How long will it all waste away in front of our eyes, until we decided to do something about it. Our oceans and creatures walking this earth will soon go extinct from our careless acts and not only does it affect them, but time is also ticking for us. Most of us take the air we breathe for granted, but even those harmful chemicals are being put out into our air, water, and soil. We continue to overlook these problems, but it will soon worsen our communities and that's why our higher officials must make environmental action to stop any further pollution.

All of us need to put a stop to these rules we have to play by and start living our lives with courage and strength. We need to support one another and get rid of jealous acts towards each other. I have faith that people will soon realize that being normal isn't following society's rules, but it's being yourself, and no one else.
