Examination is a very wide word, which is used in all spheres of life
We have exams everywhere around the world. Youngs and adults can have exams, there is not a particular age to have exams. However, some do not agree that exams are important. Examination is a word that most students are fear of. A word that has a power to change a happy person into a frustrated and nervous one. However, it is a big part of the school that all students have to go through.
For some students, they think that exams could make them stress and could cause depression.
They have to burn the midnight oil just because they have exams. Well, students should know how to manage their time so that they would not feel stress. Exams could give a big impact in everyone life. As for me, examination should not be abolished because of many good reasons. The main aim of exams is to assess students’ performance and ability.
Exams can test the students how well they are learning in the class and how successful the teachers are in convening their knowledge. By doing the exams, the teachers could know which students are good and which are weak.
For instance, if a whole group of students shows poor grades in a subject then the teacher teaching that subject can be encouraged to work harder and improve his or her teaching skills to bring the students at the top. When the students are doing the exams, they use all their knowledge and do the exams by themselves.
They will study more and focus more to make sure they score good grades in the exams. The students will memorize all the notes given by the teachers and they will also revise all the works given to them. Exams could test the students’ memories.
Next, exams are necessary for all the students. Exams are essential because exams test students’ skills and enable them to overcome their nerves. Exams may test a greater range of skills and it may also be an efficient way to measure the knowledge. It has been argued that students may suffer from the consequences of stress and anxiety during exam preparation so they may show poor performance in exams. Exams may also lead to illnesses. However, many students may overcome their nerves so they may perform well. Exams also improve students’ responsibility.
The students will have more time to study about the topic and plan the strategies for the exams. They will be more responsible towards their works just to be one the top. So, students should be optimistic towards exams. Examinations add to our ability, power of toleration, perseverance and other good qualities. Exams are not only necessary but they are also blessings. As a student, we will have loads of homework given by the teachers. For some students, they will do all the homework by themselves and they will do well with their own effort.
But sometimes, for some students that are weak in certain subjects, they will seek some helps from others. This mean that they do not do the homework with their own effort. So, how can the teachers access the students’ performance through the homework? For the class tests, different teachers will have different marking schemes. Some teachers are too lenient and some are too strict. It would not be fair for the students. Without the exams, the teachers cannot assess the true ability of a student and that is why exams are important.
For the students that achieve well and are able to pass with flying colours results, they surely will be happy. It will motivate and keep students on their toes. Some students that are not able to achieve their goals, will also be motivated and it will encourage them to study harder in order to get excellent results. For certain subjects that they are weak at, it will be an indicator for them to study smarter and harder. Whenever exams come, students pay much more attention to study than usual because they want to get good marks or just pass a certain exam.
This will show that exams could give good impact for students. As a conclusion, examinations give many good impacts on someone’s life. There are many reasons why people “invent” examination, among them testing knowledge is the most important one. It is obvious that depending on the results of a student in exams, we can relatively know how much knowledge that the students have attained. The exam is an evil but it is necessary. Therefore, examinations should not be abolished
