Even though my period at Warsaw University of Technology has provided with a strong foundation in management, but doing masters in project management can be beneficial, highly valued and opens up greater job opportunities. Such skilled professionals are high in demand and in order to make myself competent with the requirements of Aeronautical industry.Why not India:I did research regarding the project management program in my home country India. In India only a few universities and colleges are offering Project Management as a Specialisation unit such as L&T Institute of Project Management offering two courses one is PG certificate of Master's Programme in Business and Project Management and International Project and Programme Management, Indian Institute of Management (Bangalore) offering Project Management as short term course, National Institute of Industrial Engineering (Mumbai) offering Postgraduate Diploma in Project Management, Symbiosis Deemed University offering Master of Business Administration (Infrastructure Management), S P Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR) Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan offering Postgraduate Certificate in Advanced Project Management and KV Institute of Management and Information Studies- Coimbatore offering MBS in Management, to get admission in this universities I have to clear the CAT/MAT/NMAT entrance test. The annual fee for the course ranges from 10 to 15 lakhs per annum because of its competitiveness. The ever increasing competition in the education sector in India together with the prevailing Indian Reservation System makes the admission process more complex and uncertain. Here, Project Management is a relatively new course compared to other countries and hence the project management education industry here, is smaller and not very progressive. There sure is an awareness of the program but considering the advancement of the course is, the Indian education system continues to struggle keeping up. A private university or college may offer the subjects necessary for the course, but the quality of education is inadequate and during the course also universities are not focusing on work integrated learning. Moreover, due to lack of research based education in Indian universities, I have a necessity to identify a University abroad that would meet my anticipations. Studying abroad significantly improves my career opportunities " the knowledge, experience, and skills that I obtain are well-respected the world over. With the previous study experience from abroad I decided to continue my master's degree from abroad only. International Search:As I planned to study overseas, I started searching for similar programs in project management in countries like USA, UK, Australia, Canada and European Countries. Compared on the program, program requirements, admission criteria, course structure, tuition fee cost, living expenses, climatic conditions, visa conditions and so on. In USA, Universities such as Salem University offering Master of Business Administration in Project Management for USD 28,320, DeVry University is offering Master of Project Management for USD 28,790, Boston University offering Master of Science in Project Management for USD 53,592, and George Washington University offering Master of Science in Project Management for USD 59,408, in addition to that cost of living is around USD 22,000. For admission in any university in the USA, universities regard a TOEFL/IELTS and GMAT score. Each state follows a different core curriculum of courses creating students of varying standards of education and the cost of education is slowly increasing every year. The dollar is becoming more powerful in the market leading to increased tuition expenses. Even with financial assistance, the cost of education in U.S.A is leaning towards the more expensive end, and in recent times some universities are losing their accreditation and with multiple issues of Indian student deportations, I cannot take chances in my career so I did not prefer to study masters in the USA. Coming to Canada, Northeastern University college of Professional Studies offering Masters in Project Management, University of Calgary - Haskayne School of Business offering MBA Project Management Specialization, Douglas College offering Postgraduate Diploma in Project Management, and John Molson School of Business -Concordia University offering Masters Certificate in Project management, Fanshawe offering Graduate Certificate in Project Management, Sprott School of Business- Carleton University offering Master's Certificate in Project Management. Canada tuition fees around CAD$20,000 to CAD$30,000 and living expenses are CAD$16,000 affordable only, but the university admission deadlines are closed for nearest intake, graduate certificate course is one year duration and PGDM in Project Management courses does not give me much scope and recognition in India also the outrageous climatic conditions are not favourable, in winters temperature goes down below -20 degrees centigrade and put up with 6"8 months of very cold weather, so I did not prefer Canada. In United Kingdom universities like Northumbria University offering MSc in Project Management for Ј15,000 per annum, Glasgow Caledonian University offering MSc in International Project Management for Ј12,980 per annum, Manchester Metropolitan University is offering MSc in Project Management for Ј16,500 per annum, addition to that cost of living is around Ј16,000-Ј18,000 and the intensive learning is completed in just a year. UK universities mostly offering 12-18 months course and the degrees are not accepted by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and employers in India also the cost of living and course fees are too expensive for me so, I did not preferred UK for studying masters. I also searched for Masters in Poland. In Poland only two relevant courses are there as MBA in Strategy, Programme and Project Management which is offered by Gdansk University of Technology, and MSc Management and Manufacturing Engineering is offered by Wroclaw University. These two courses are not emphasizing on Project Management study area moreover there is no nearest intake and the next intake is February so I did not preferred Poland also. After looking into all the countries above I have decided to pursue my master's in Australia as the course cost and cost of living (AU$ 20,290) is affordable to me and Australian degrees are recognized all over the world, and the education system in Australia is primarily based on immense problem-solving skills in the context of a real-world scenario in any field also the climate of Australia is similar that of Asian climate so, I have decided to pursue my higher education in Australia.Why Australia:I choose Australia over other countries because the quality of education in Australia is of high standard and it is the second most preferred study destination for International Students in the world. Australia with world's 13th largest economy with the second-highest human development globally ranks high in quality of life, health, education, economy and freedom with civil and political rights. In Australia education system has a great learning methods enriched with globally ranked universities, technically sound equipment's and well trained professors. Living expenses and tuition costs in Australia are considerably less expensive than UK and USA. It encourages one to be innovative, creative and think independently. Besides this, Australia is dynamic, vibrant country with energetic, friendly people. Australia offers excellent value for money and a standard of living that is among the top in the world. Qualification acquired from Australia is recognized worldwide by all the employers and organization. It has a large number of highly reputed universities that offers a wide range of courses in every field of study providing opportunities to students to select their interested course and enhance their knowledge and skills. The education meted out in the Australia is often focused on the practical facets of teaching thus making an environment that will enhance the powers of a student's problem-solving skills and thinking abilities. And finally I am confident that the technical knowledge that I acquire in the Australia will help me in playing a constructive role in career progress.Research on Other Universities in Australia:As I have decided Australia as my study destination, I did my further research on Universities offering Master of Project Management program, program requirements, course structure, tuition fee cost and scholarship etc. I found few Universities such as Latrobe University offering Master of Management (Project Management) and annual tuition fee cost is AU$36,600, Swinburne University of Technology offering Master of Project Management (Professional) and the annual tuition fee cost is AU$ 38,480, Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) University offering Master of Project Management and annual tuition fee cost is AU$36,480, and Bond University offering Master of Project Management (Professional) for AU$ 28,415. I decided to study Master of Project Management (Professional) at Bond University because the tuition fee is comparatively less and affordable for me, Bond has trimester. Another reason for selecting Bond is the subjects of Project Management which I want to learn are systematically framed also bond University is that it offers one of its kind Masters in Project management which necessitates the students to complete a 2,000 word scoping document, and also take on a work placement in Australia for 210 hours (which includes an employer's report) and reflective journal (up to 5,000 words) OR complete a collaborative research project totaling up to 15,000 words.
