Diversity Vs. Equal Rights

Categories: Diversity

A story I read in Everything is an Argument talks about an all-women’s college named Mills College that accepts only the female gender. The author Fraas, Sarah said they also “accepted transgender females.” MeansThis meansmeans this , that a boy that is born a boy only needs to check a box that he is female, and he can get into an all-girls college. I agree with equal rights and have no problem with the LBGTQ community, but I do have a problem with accepting men into an all-girls college, surgery or not.

They still have twice the strength of most women. This means any man can just claim he is a female at this school, and be able to shower, eat, and sleep, with all the girls. Some guys would do something like that. This is both diversity and globalization. This is globalization because this school accepting transgenders is something that most schools would not. I believe if we set our disagreements aside and accepted transgenders at college and everywhere, we could live together in ethos, peacefully.

This is a good example of pathos because god loves us all regardless of what we look like or who we decide to sleep with. Leaving most sad pathos. A person not being accepted as they are can do damage to the mind, speaking from experience.

The fact that people can open their minds, and hearts to be able to agree to do something that most schools or places would not is globalization. The people that belief in it will spread the word about it.

The people who do not agree with it have to deal with it to prevent trouble with the law. The LBGTQ community is the perfect example of diversity because not very many people agree with liking someone of the same sex. Brian at petersons.com says “For diversity means that the campus is viewed in a welcoming environment for anyone who wants to apply.” This is so true. It also forces us to globalize, teach, learn, and work together, gay, straight, black, white, or green. LBGTQ community are stereotyped by same-sex marriage and having the same rights as those BORN as male, female, gay, or straight. This kind of diversity is good for college and the world, because it means everybody in the classroom or working together, must interact and socialize with others the same or vastly different than them. Diversity is part of expanding knowledge and promotes creative thinking for everybody.

A diverse community means diverse ways of teaching and being able to work with somebody from a completely different place. Jeremy S Hymen on usnews.com says, “diversity expands worldliness.” As I stated earlier it forces us to interact with each other, but in most cases, this is not true. People tend to stick to what they know. Means, that when they are needing to ask a question in class a person normally asks who they know or think they know. Rarely does anybody ask the professor. If nobody likes this is nearby, then, and only then they must ask whoever is sitting next to them. I also know this from experience in this class. It is about what is familiar to us. Having diverse teachers means diverse ways of teaching. This means learning more about certain things talked about or things not known about. All from experience. The real world is diverse. Specifically, America and countries like it. A lot of people I know think, everyone benefits when it comes to social media. I think social media does as much damage as it does good. Collaboration with people from various places gives better knowledge and better results. Diversity overall on campus and otherwise is great for the world we are living in. It teaches us how to all get along and work life as one. Unfortunately, the reality is not like this everywhere. I believe if it was we the people everywhere could all live in peace. It is a sad but happy ethosmeans means
