Discussion Post on Hebb's Three Postulates

Discussion reflection number eight will come out of chapter eighteen for both discussions. I decided to choose question number two and question number three. Question number two is over Donald Hebb's cell assembly and phase sequences, which really make sense. Hebb has been greatly influential to not only psychology but also science. I found a really helpful video that can better explain the cell assemblies and the phase sequences even more than what the book explains it goes more into depth about the connections.

It is a really good video it is called "Hebbs Three Postulates: From Brain to Soma" and here is the link if you would like to check it out or share it, Another video I found that can better explain the firing of neurons is called "Neurons That Fire Together Wire Together." It's not exactly over Hebb but does explain the process of what's going on when firing occurs. Here is the link, While watching this video, it has made me realize everything we do and how we think is all based on us, we are actually in control of our thoughts more than we realize and they can be changed with determination and repetition.

Sperry and his colleagues

Question number three was also out of chapter eighteen and was over Roger Sperry and his thoughts and theory over the split-brain. I remember learning about this in my experimental psychology class. It's pretty fascinating how he learned all that he did about the two different hemispheres.

The neatest thing is that, after Sperry and his colleagues did much experiments and training, they concluded that the corpus callosum does not have to be present before or after information is provided, in respect to the transferring of information from one side of the brain to the other.

I believe I did okay on my discussion post, as well as the way I responded to my peers. The topic over Hebb and his cell assembly, was a little more challenging. It took me watching a few videos to fully grasp what was really going, how it was happening. It really bugs me if I do not fully understand something, I probably make things harder than what they really are.

Thank you for all that you have done and taught us this semester, I truly learned a lot in this class and very much enjoyed it. I hope you have a fun and wonderful rest of your summer.
