Discuss the Pros and Cons of Festivals and Fairs

Categories: Festival

Festivals are cultural celebrations that take place all around the world. People from different ethenic groups celebrate with traditional food and amusements . Popular festivals such as sport, music and food are common for fun loving people and many festivals are international festivals are a good thing as they bring people together from different places to enjoy common interests. They do have some cons however as, crimes like theft and issues like noise pollution and missing children do maniple themselves.

One of the major concerns regarding festivals and fairs are the disruption to the local area.

Disruption such as noise pollution litter, car lights which beam into people housing windows and even graffiti on peoples walls. This causes a great disruption on the neighbours. A local resident named John Taylor said “I can’t even sleep at night because of the flashing lights and noise coming from the fair”. Another neighbour also complained that there was graffiti sprayed on his or hers property.

Additionally, another issue which is a common problem is overcrowding. Festivals nd fairs attract thousands of people who all gather around to watch or play in these events. Overcrowding can lead to serious injuries such as people being crushed over or suffocated. An ambulance driver named Nick Jones reported that this type of chaos was very common and had an affect on many people such as getting trotted on or suffocated. Also overcrowding can lead to litter, theft and hygiene issue as well as many more dangerous things. People love eating and sharing food but when it comes down to a festival, some don’t realise if the food is hygienic or unhygienic.

Consider the toilets people go to there, do their business and leave it untidy . This is very unsafe for children and adults who run the risk of getting disease from it.

Moreover. A major concern is litter being thrown on the streets. This influences the borough of the council complaining the problem which is taken place. The council then has spend all that money e.g. 10,000 on clearing all the rubbish for the sake at community or borough. You may think “so what” but actually it is a serious issue as this could be your neighbourhood with thousands of pieces of litter piled up in your doorway. Here are a list of cons in festivals and fairs:

Cost - A lot of festivals require an entry fee. Make sure that the potential of screening (or not screening) is worth that cost.

Distance - You probably won't be able to attend most festivals that accept your film. If you know that you can't attend, then base your decision to submit solely on whether or not screening at that festival is worth the time and cost.

Materials - Every festival is different and will require a different format of your film, if accepted. Consider the time, cost and technical difficulties of making up various DVDs and tapes.

In reality, festivals and fairs are good thing; they provide good clean food as well as good service of security. It is a safe place to enjoy yourself with some crimes but often dealed with. Neighbourhood won’t raise a have no problem of the situation of that event. The festival and fairs are one of the most popular carnivals around the world as known today. Many in which people love to get job as there is plenty of space provided for people who are seeking for it. In my opinion I believe that festivals and fairs are a good programme for family or friends to enjoy themselves and for other to have fun. Here are list of pros:

Meet Your Heroes - Festivals are a great place to connect with filmmakers and artists that you admire - especially niche festivals. Take advantage of the opportunity to have your work seen and judged by the people you look up to.

Make Connections - You'll be surrounded by like-minded and equally talented people from your field, including working professionals. It's a great opportunity for you to meet people - you never know when that connection will benefit you (or them).

The Theater Experience - Nothing beats seeing your own film screened in a professional theater with an audience (if your nerves don't get to you first).

Preparedness - Personal anecdote: one day I was told that I would have the opportunity to screen my film on stage with Tim Burton, but needed a tape within two days.

Sometimes Free - There are a good number of festivals that are free to enter - so if you have the time, why not submit? You never know what kind of awards or exposure you may get in return.

Working in a Foreign Country - Certain types of work visa's require proof of professional achievement. The awards and selections I've had from festivals were an invaluable part of my recent work visa application.

So with that in mind could you feel confident seeing your youngster set off to Reading for their first festival with their mates? We'd say yes to that, overall we found it reassuringly safe and organisers continue to make improvements year on year, the only proviso we would add is that because there is still a tranche of bad behaviour around the campsite.

Travel is surprisingly easy as the site location makes it an easy walk from the station; there are plenty of shuttle buses as well. Parking is plentiful and the route is really well signposted if you're going by car. Once there the site is so easy to navigate and you can easily get round, aside from a few bottlenecks at times there were no real issues, we liked the layout a lot. Now lets set that Aside from the need for an armchair and a buggy to transport us around the site when the going got tough we haven't found anything about the acts or the organisation to moan about.

Not having anywhere near enough time to see and do all that we wanted and missing out on so much because there were tough decisions and choices to be made all weekend is about as close as we can get. I believe that festivals and fair are there for the people who want to have fun , no one else if your thinking about aliens. If you’re sitting there not doing nothing at home well it’s time for you to experience something new in the outside world.

I believe that festivals and fairs are good way of celebrating in the time of year. A way of meeting other people you haven’t met before in your life. Celebration is one the important things around our world including today or the next year. If you believe that there was no festivals around the world, how would you be able to cope if there was not a such thing about it?.
