They even pass the swelling of the ground which is a grave. The speaker says that the journey to eternity that she describes is centuries ago, at least two hundred years. And yet it doesn't feel so long ago. And she finally tells us she surmised that the Horses' Heads were going in the direction of eternity. The tone in this poem is sad, but it is also more comforting because of its tone. It is true that both poems are about Death, but one is about dying and the other one is about the journey to immortality. "I heard a Fly buzz" poem is more shocking because it is about the act of dying, and the other one is more comforting Death is more polite in the Carriage poem. The speaker is going from the familiar things in life to the unknown condition of being in another world. Both poems are depressing, but the one with the Fly is more depressing than the Carriage one. The poem "T heard I Fly buzz when I died" is more difficult to understand. Readers may think it's a hard poem due to the language used. The language is choice of words.
